This week President Donald Trump left America to visit a country where he's even less popular, The United Kingdom. Demonstrators greeted POTUS by mowing a massive penis near London airport and projecting Obama approval ratings on London landmarks. Then thousands of people gathered in Central London for a massive protest, and they didn't just bring signs. They brought a huge model of Trump tweeting on a golden toilet, and the notorious 20 foot blimp depicting Trump as an angry baby.
Activists flew the Trump blimp baby over Westminster at 9am on Tuesday, and Trump had to drive past it as he arrived in Whitehall to meet prime minister Theresa May. Afterward, demonstrators blew up a smaller, lighter replica of the blimp to carry amongst the crowd. Apparently, the comical caricature balloon enraged one Trump supporter, because she recorded a video of herself stabbing it with a sharp object.
"I’m going in," the woman says in the footage, and approaches the group of activists outside the House of Commons. She appears to stab the Trump baby balloon with a sharp object, then scurry away. As the demonstrators react with varying degrees of "wtf," the woman screams at them for expressing their opinion about a public figure. "Did it! That’s a disgrace! It’s a national disgrace!," she yells defiantly. "The President of the United States is the best president ever."
The woman then lifts up a bloody hand, remarking, "I'm bleeding quite badly, though." Apparently, she accidentally cut herself with the sharp object while lunging past demonstrators to stab their property. The police then confront the bleeding, weapon-wielding woman to conduct a search, and she objects, claiming she is "disabled" and "not dangerous."
A spokesperson for Scotland Yard told The Independent "one female has been arrested for being in possession of a pointed or bladed article." "A woman … punctured the mini Trump baby replica with a sharp object," a spokesman for the activist group told the outlet. "It’s not surprising that the far right would want to meet freedom of expression with violence."
The woman has been identified as right-wing activist Amy Dalla Mura, aka "Based Amy." "[Amy] stabbed the Trump baby today but also appears to have nicked herself on her own knife," tweeted reporter Ryan Broderick. "She was arrested immediately afterwards." Journalist Mike Stuchbery added, "For those of you asking, Trump Baby was only lightly wounded in today's attack and stands at full pressurisation."
Watch protesters inflate the actual Trump baby blimpLondon Mayor Sadiq Khan, whom Trump frequently insults, granted the group permission to fly the giant Trump blimp baby. It is not clear if "Based Amy" is aware she stabbed a small replica of the blimp, not the real thing.
"We’ve had a fantastic day with Baby Trump in front of the world’s media and the president himself," a spokesman told The Independent. "The actual Trump Baby is on his way to Dublin as we speak to be ready to troll Trump on his next destination."
Of course, this was wasn't the only obnoxious incident reported at the protest. At Parliament Square, a group of demonstrators chanted "Nazi scum" at a Trump supporter, and dumped a milkshake on his head. The incident was captured on video and quickly spread on Twitter.
