Mother's fate revealed after 11-year-old daughter gives birth to stepfather's baby without medical help
A year after an 11-year-old girl gave birth to her stepfather's baby without any pain relief or medical assistance, her mother has been punished for failing to protect her child from sexual abuse.
In August 2025, authorities discovered that an 11-year-old had given birth to a baby inside her family’s home without prenatal care or medical assistance, after hospital staff alerted police when she arrived at the hospital in Oklahoma.
The twisted parents claimed to have no idea their daughter was pregnant
At the time, Muskogee County Assistant District Attorney Janet Hutson said that both Cherie Walker and her husband, Dustin, claimed that they had no idea that their daughter was pregnant.
The child had also not been to the doctor in well over a year.
Hutson told local news outlet KOTV: “This child is traumatized.
“She’s been through a horrific ordeal. I mean, not only has somebody gotten her pregnant, but she gave birth at home without medical assistance, and this will be her life for the rest of her life.”
In a later statement, local authorities revealed that DNA testing proved that Walker was the baby's father.
Hutson said in another statement: "This is one of the most, if not the most serious, child sexual abuse and neglect cases I have ever prosecuted."
Three of the child's family members were charged in relation to the sickening case
Last week, Cherie, 34, was sentenced to seven consecutive life sentences for allowing the child to be sexually abused and later giving birth at home to a full-term baby without medical assistance.
She was charged with one count of child sexual abuse and six counts of child neglect.
The neglectful parent pleaded guilty and was convicted on all seven felony counts on July 17, 2026.
The child's perpetrator and stepfather pleaded guilty to felony child sexual abuse and neglect charges.
He has since been sentenced to life in prison for the child sexual abuse charge, and 42 years for the child neglect charges, according to KOTV.
Michelle Justus, the child's grandmother, was also charged, as prosecutors claimed that she knew sexual abuse was happening within the household and did nothing to stop or report it to authorities.
According to court documents, the couple was also convicted of five counts of child neglect of the five children they share, then aged 2, 4, 6, 7, and 9, on or between January 1 and August 16, 2025.
The young children were removed from the home where they were "living in deplorable conditions" shortly after their parents were arrested.
