A 14-year-old boy has tragically died after suffering a fatal cardiac arrest during a bull riding at a rodeo in North Carolina.
As reported by the Daily Mail, teenage cowboy Denim Bradshaw was taking part in a bull riding event at the Rafter K. Rodeo on Saturday night (January 28).
However, after Bradshaw was thrown to the ground by the bull he was riding, the animal then stomped on the teen's chest, according to a spectator at the event. Two EMTs rushed to Bradshaw's side and performed life-saving measures.
Emergency services were also called to the venue. Tragically, attempts to save the teenager were unsuccessful, and Bradshaw was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.
Bradshaw's grieving mom, Shannon Bowman, has since taken to Facebook to pay tribute to her son, writing in a heartbreaking post: "Last night was the longest night of my life!! My beautiful handsome 14 year old son had went to be with the lord! I awoke in a nightmare for the rest of my life!
"I hate myself for this call but he was loving every second of it I never seen him so happy as I had seen him last night before his departure.
"Denim baby you did it!! You did that!! I’m so proud of your braveness and your courage! My lil cowboy I will love and miss you so much and I know God will take care of you."
Officials for Rafter K. Rodeo have also taken to the company's Facebook page to honor the teen cowboy, writing: "Everyone here at Rafter K Rodeo Company, LLC would like to give our sincere condolences to the family and friends of bull rider, Denim Bradshaw. Our sport is truly a family and we are so thankful for everyone that was there to help.
"We are thankful for our [on-site EMTs], paramedics and law enforcement that work so hard to care for the cowboys.
"This is a tragic event and words cannot describe the pain felt by this loss. We ask everyone to come together and pray for his family for comfort and healing in this difficult time."
Recalling the tragic incident, one attendee told WFMY: "I'm a single mom, I had spent these last two weeks saving my money to buy my son everything he needed for the rodeo. I wanted to make sure that he had everything he needed to be safe, but [Bradshaw's mom] has no idea that the next day her son wasn't going to be there with her."
A GoFundMe has since been launched by Bradshaw's sister in order to help fund funeral expenses.
The description for the online fundraiser reads: "No one expects to lose such a young soul, and we were not prepared. We graciously ask all who are able to please donate and send prayers for the family during this most difficult of times.
"Denim was 14 years old. He was a son, a brother, a cousin, an uncle, and a friend to all who were lucky enough to know him
"He leaves behind his mother, Shannon Bowman, father, Billy Bradshaw, and siblings, Braxton Knight, Triston Knight, Persephone Bowman, and Daylin Scott."
As of this writing, over $5,600 has been raised of the $15,000 goal.
Our thoughts are with Bradshaw's family, friends, and loved ones at this time.

Tributes have poured in for a man who was tragically killed by a bull at a New Year’s Eve rodeo event in Queensland, Australia.
The 25-year-old man has been identified as Hue Mills who fell and was then struck by the bull shortly after 8:00PM on December 31.
He was treated by paramedics immediately after the incident occurred and was rushed to the hospital where he later passed away due to the injuries he sustained, per News.com.au.
As cited by ABC News, Jason Hall, chair of the National Rodeo Association said: "He was bucked off his bull about halfway through the ride and the bull's back feet came in contact with the competitor.
"As far as protective equipment, he was wearing a helmet and a protective vest – he was taking all the precautions. But they are obviously to help limit any injury, it can't obviously prevent everything from happening."
Hall went on to explain that Mills was competing in the novice bull-riding event which is entry-level, meaning that experience is not necessary. he added that he had not seen Mills at an event before and that he is "what we call a day member of the National Rodeo Association," meaning he isn't an active participant every weekend.
Mills leaves behind his wife Jactina and their young child. Tributes have been pouring in on social media for the 25-year-old and condolences are being offered to his family.
One Facebook user wrote: "Rest In Peace young Cowboy Hue, my deepest sympathies for your loved ones you sadly leave behind."
The National Rodeo Association said: "We would like to offer our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Hue Mills who was fatally injured while competing in the Novice Bull Ride at the Warwick New Years Eve Rodeo last night."
The Warwick Show and Rodeo Society offered their condolences to Mills' family and have pledged to raise money to help them with any costs.
"In an effort to Support the family, the Warwick Show and Rodeo Society will be "Passing the Hat Around" today at our National Rodeo Association Ltd. Junior Rodeo to assist in any way we can financially for the family with funeral arrangements, and where possible, any long term care for the family," a Facebook statement read.

A Georgia woman has passed away after a freak rodeo accident in Tennessee.
Breanna Chadwick, 20, was airlifted to Erlanger Hospital last week after being hit by a gate that a horse had run into at the Chatsworth Saddle Club.
Per The Dalton Daily Citizen, the fatal incident occurred during a 'Parade of Wagons' performance which the aspiring elementary school teacher and Reinhardt University student was attending.
At the time, her sister Kirsten Chadwick posted on Facebook about her condition. "Lord Please Pray for my sister Breanna Chadwick. She has been in a horrible accident," Kirsten wrote.
"We need all the prayers we can get for her. They [are] airlifting her to Erlanger Hospital and the Drs said to prepare for the [worst]," she added.
Sadly, Breanna did not recover from her injuries and passed away on Friday (July 8).
In a touching obituary, the Georgia native's family described how she "touched so many lives". They added:
"She always had a beautiful smile and was full of sass. You could always find her at Chick-fil-A getting a lemonade or at Bruster’s getting a single scoop of birthday cake ice cream. She loved the color teal, her jeep, Lily, and Peanut, but most of all she loved her family and friends."
The obituary continued: "She grew up playing softball, basketball, and lacrosse and was attending Reinhardt University to be a 3rd grade teacher. She loved all kids and they loved her. She touched so many lives and will continue for many years."
Breanna's funeral service was held yesterday (July 13). Meanwhile, The Saddle Club has also organized a candlelit vigil in her honor that will take place this Friday (July 15).
"After a lot of tears and heavy considerations, we have spoken with a member of the Chadwick family. At [their] request the shows will go on and parade. We will have a candlelight vigil in honor of Breanna Chadwick," the club wrote in a Facebook post.
"We will also be offering ribbons for anyone who wants to wear one during the parade and remaining shows of the week," they added.
A GoFundMe page has also been launched to help her family cover medical bills and funeral costs. The fundraiser - which so far has raised over $23,000 - will also be used to start a scholarship fund in her name.
Our thoughts go out to Breanna's family, friends, and loved ones at this time.

An 18-year-old has tragically passed away after having a cardiac arrest during gym class.
Jordan Brister suffered a medical emergency on January 3, in the middle of the school day at Las Vegas' Amplus Academy, per TODAY.
The outlet detailed that he'd allegedly been found unresponsive in a bathroom following his regular Tuesday gym class, after having collapsed there 25 minutes earlier. Just five days later on January 8, the high school senior sadly passed away.
According to a GoFundMe started by his family, there is "no explanation as to why" he had the heart attack.
"Jordan Tyler Brister suddenly and unexpectedly suffered cardiac arrest while at school with no explanation as to why," the description read on the fundraiser.
"Jordan was a senior in high school who planned to join the military after graduating. Words cannot express what the Brister family is going through and there will never be enough answers as to why this has happened. He was an amazing kid who loved life to the fullest," it continued.
So far, the fundraiser has raised over $41,000 of the original $20,000 goal, and the funds will be used for funeral services and anything else the teen's family will need.
The school he attended wrote a statement sending their condolences to the family of the teen, writing: "It is with deep sadness and sympathy that we announce the passing of one of our Senior High School students, Jordan Brister. The Amplus community sends our love and condolences to the Brister family as well as to all of Jordan's family, friends, and acquaintances."
NBC reported that staff members did their best to provide the young high schooler with "emergency medical attention" until paramedics finally arrived on the scene.
Brister's tragic passing came soon after another Vegas high school student - 16-year-old Ashari Hughes - collapsed and died after a flag football game, CBS reported. Just last week, 24-year-old NFL star Damar Hamlin also suffered a shock cardiac arrest on-field during his team's game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
As previously reported, the Buffalo Bills safety has made a full recovery since his tackle against Bengals' player Tee Higgins, and was finally discharged from Buffalo General Hospital on Wednesday (January 11).
Multiple medical experts have theorized that Hamlin's heart attack could have resulted from a condition known as commotio cordis, a phenomenon whereby sudden blunt trauma to the chest can cause the heart and blood flow to stop, often resulting in death.
Regarding Brister's death, however, the Clark County Coroner's Office has publicly stated that police officers are still investigating what could have triggered the cardiac arrest.
