A travel journalist was reduced to tears after an American Airlines flight attendant handed her a heartwarming note after landing.
Kellee Edwards was traveling first class from Phoenix to Chicago when she received the note, which paid tribute to the Black Lives Matter movement.
The message, who was signed off from a flight attendant called John McCullough read: "Ms Edwards. Thank you for flying first class on American Airlines! I see you. You matter. Black Lives Matter." It also displayed three hearts.
Kellee, who hosts a travel television show, was overwhelmed by the gesture.
"Now THIS is customer service. Such a simple gesture, but BEYOND meaningful. To simply be seen, in today’s climate and world. I may or may not be tearing up as a result. Ok, I AM Crying face. What an amazing Flight Attendant John is @AmericanAir ! Thank you John! [sic]," she later wrote on Twitter alongside a photo of the note.

Speaking to Good Morning America about the Sept. 8 flight from Phoenix to Chicago, Kellee said that when John handed her the note, "Everything came rushing to the forefront. It was like [when she read] 'I see you, you matter,' [she thought] "yes I do".
She added that John's note was "purposeful and not performative. Performative is something we have a lot of right now," and that she hopes that people who hear her story realize, "there are still so many good people in the world and a simple gesture can not only change someone's day, it can change someone's life."
"During this flight, the crew and I connected with Ms. Edwards, so I felt comfortable enough to share something more heartfelt than usual on her first class note," John later told GMA. "I immediately knew it was well-received when I saw the happiness in her eyes and the smile behind her mask. I’m happy I get to work for a company that connects people and places and I’m beyond proud of American’s actions to promote inclusivity."
