Bill Clinton issues blistering statement after wife Hillary was forced to testify in Epstein probe
Former President Bill Clinton has publicly lashed out after his wife, Hillary Clinton, was compelled to sit for a deposition in the congressional investigation into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The former POTUS did not hold back, speaking out just hours after wrapping up his own testimony before the House Oversight Committee, per the New York Post.
In a video shared on social media, Clinton made it clear he believed Hillary had been wrongly dragged into the high-profile probe.
“She had nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein. Nothing,” Clinton seethed.
His frustration was unmistakable as he challenged the scope of the investigation and the decision to subpoena his wife.
“So whether ten people or 10,000 people were subpoenaed, including her, was simply not right,” the former president argued.
Bill Clinton defends Hillary over Epstein deposition
Clinton’s testimony before the Oversight Committee lasted roughly six hours and took place at the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center.
The deposition forms part of the broader congressional investigation into Epstein, the disgraced billionaire financier whose criminal conduct sparked global outrage.
After finishing his own appearance, Clinton insisted he had done nothing improper.
“I saw nothing and did nothing wrong,” he added.
He also expressed hope that his cooperation would encourage others to come forward and speak candidly.
The former president said he hoped his appearance before the panel “will motivate everyone to go in front of Congress to say what they know.”
Clinton further called on federal authorities to take additional action regarding the long-running case.
“I hope it will motivate the Justice Department to finally release all the files,” Clinton continued, “and to ensure that this never happens again.”
Hot tub photo and denial under oath
During the closed-door session, lawmakers reportedly questioned Clinton about a series of controversial images tied to Epstein. Among them was a photograph showing Clinton seated in a hot tub alongside an unidentified woman.
According to a source familiar with his testimony, Clinton told lawmakers under oath that he did not have sexual relations with the woman and claimed he did not know who she was.
The suggestive image was said to be just one of many included in the millions of documents connected to Epstein.
Lawmakers also pressed Clinton about his past association with Epstein, including flights aboard the financier’s private plane and conversations with President Trump concerning Epstein.
Throughout the deposition, the Democrat maintained that his interactions with Epstein ended before the financier was charged with sex crimes.
He emphasized that he “never witnessed” any illegal conduct and asserted that he would not have boarded Epstein’s aircraft had he been aware of criminal activity.
“Even with 20/20 hindsight, I saw nothing that gave me pause,” Clinton said in a statement released ahead of his deposition.
“I had no idea of the crimes Epstein was committing. No matter how many photos you show me.”
Hillary Clinton also spent approximately six hours answering questions from the committee the day before her husband’s testimony.
Afterward, she addressed reporters and criticized Republicans over the investigation. She stated that she did not know Epstein and accused the Oversight panel of engaging in “partisan political theater.”
