The 53-year-old, who is the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), was caught on camera appearing completely transfixed by some silverware at President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach on March 15.

As the 78-year-old chatted nearby, the Tesla and SpaceX boss seemed laser-focused on balancing utensils like he was prepping for an audition on America’s Got Table Tricks.

A video of the moment is now circulating widely across social media and shows Musk sitting at a formal dinner table alongside Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis, mother to four of his children.

Meanwhile, Trump is visible in the background, engaged in a conversation with someone else and seemingly unaware of Musk’s silverware showcase.

Watch the moment below:

Many online users on Musk's X (formerly Twitter) platform weighed in on the video and did not hold back with their savage reactions.

One user wasn’t impressed, writing: “I bet this hits so hard if you’re seven." A second agreed, adding: "The best part is that he wants to be celebrated for it -- this is basic man-child behavior. LOOK WHAT I DID MOMMY LOOK LOOK LOOK."

Reddit didn’t miss the chance to share their thoughts either. “This photo is cropped but in other versions, the president is sitting in the chair next to him talking to someone. I find that makes Elon playing with silverware even stranger...” someone commented.

“He’s hoping someone will pay attention to him. ‘Hey! That looks neat! Man, you’re so cool!’ It’s so painfully transparent,” another wrote.

One person summed up the mood: “The video is so sad. He's just sitting there doing a childhood dinner trick while waiting for someone to notice how 'cool' it was. Next he's gonna do the hang the spoon off your nose trick lol. This is the s**t I did when my parents dragged me to dinner parties as a kid.”

And finally, a user nailed the absurdity of it all: “People on Twitter are legitimately like 'THIS IS HOW SOMEONE WAY SMARTER THAN YOU BRAINSTORMS A DESIGN FOR A SATELLITE' Like bigger f**king simps could not possibly exist in the known universe.”

Meanwhile, Musk's fans took the cutlery as an example of his technical and engineering genius.

“Peak genius and dinner entertainment,” one user quipped, while another said: "Elon Musk built a fork starship at a dinner with Trump. Then he launched himself into space. Secret Service didn't even flinch. Just another Tuesday."
