Oluwatoyin Salau, a 19-year-old who protested at the Black Lives Matter protests in Tallahassee, Florida, has been found dead.
Her family confirmed the death on Monday morning, per the Tallahassee Democrat.
Salau was reportedly found dead on Saturday night after she went missing over a week ago, on June 6.
Salau's friend, Danaya Hemphill, saw her the day before she went missing. Speaking to the Tallahassee Democrat, 22-year-old Hemphill said: "I had a feeling that we were not going to find Toyin alive."
"Toyin was very passionate," Hemphill continued. "She was very vocal she was very loving, very spiritual, very caring. Toyin she was like a light in a dark room. That was Toyin."
Before her disappearance, Salau tweeted that she had been sexually assaulted on June 6.
Videos circulating on Twitter show Salau reciting the names of black people killed as a result of police brutality, including George Floyd and Tony McDade.
"I don’t want their names gone in vain," she reportedly said during a protest in front of the Tallahassee Police Department last month.
Tallahassee Police Department have not disclosed whether Salau was one of two homicide victims discovered on Saturday night off Monday Road in southeast Tallahassee.
Police have not yet released the name of either of the victims, according to the publication.
This comes after a slew of anti-racism protests swept the United States and other major cities across the globe, following the death of George Floyd.
Floyd, a black man, was arrested by Minneapolis police on Monday, May 25, for reportedly using a counterfeit $20 note in a store. While being detained, ex-cop Derek Chauvin - a 19-year veteran of the force - knelt on his neck for eight minutes and 46 seconds.
Chauvin faces charges of second-degree murder and manslaughter, while the three other arresting officers have been charged with aiding and abetting murder.

A man identified as Robert Fuller was found last Wednesday, hanging from a tree near Palmdale City Hall in California. The 20-year-old had a rope around his neck, and his death was reported as a suicide.
Two trans women of color were found dead in separate instances. Dominique “Rem’mie” Fells' dismembered body was discovered alongside the Schuylkill River in the Bartman’s Garden area of Philadelphia on June 8.
The second trans woman to be killed was Riah Milton. Police officials say she was shot several times during an attempted robbery in Liberty Township, Ohio, on Tuesday.
