Brian Laundrie's remains had been partly eaten by animals by the time they were discovered in the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park in North Port, Florida, according to the full autopsy report.

Per CBS 12, the report - released on Monday, February 14 - revealed that the remains of the 23-year-old fugitive showed signs of gnawing and chewing.

The report reads: "Multiple long bones including bones of the arms and legs all disclose carnivore predation activity characterized by gnawing and chewing, mostly on the distal ends of the long bones.

"The cranium is in multiple pieces and fragments. ... Most of the bones have dark discoloration consistent with the dark soil material where the bones were recovered.

"Most of the distal long bones have moderately extensive carnivore activity evidenced by multiple gouging and gnawing marks. These areas are consistent with carnivores and/or omnivores including canines such as feral dogs and coyotes along with rodents and raccoons."

It continues: "No soft tissue remains but for minimal partially calcified costal cartilage at the anterior aspects of some of the lower ribs. Multiple long bones including bones of the arms and legs all disclose carnivore predation activity characterized by gnawing and chewing."

Last month, it was revealed that Laundrie, who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, had confessed to killing his fiancée Gabby Petitio in a notebook found near his remains.

"A review of the notebook revealed written statements by Mr. Laundrie claiming responsibility for Ms. Petito's death," the FBI's Denver Field Office said in a statement released on January 21.

Last summer, Laundrie, and 22-year-old Petito had embarked on a cross-country road trip. However, this trip ended early, with Laundrie arriving back solo to the North Port, Florida home he had shared with both Petito and his parents.

Weeks later, Petito's remains were discovered in Teton County, Wyoming, - but by that point, Laundrie, a person of interest in her disappearance, had gone missing himself.

On October 12, Teton County Coroner Dr. Brent Blue confirmed that Petito died by strangulation. Eight days later, Laundrie's remains were discovered by authorities in the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park.
