The family of Brian Laundrie has no plans to hold a funeral for the 23-year-old, according to their lawyer.
Laundrie was the subject of a nationwide manhunt before his remains were found last week in Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park.
Dental records confirmed that they belonged to the fugitive, who was last seen six days before his missing fiancée, Gabby Petito, 22, was found in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming.
In a statement, the FBI said: "On October 21, 2021, a comparison of dental records confirmed that the human remains found at the T Mabry Carlton Jr Memorial Reserve and Myakkahatchee Creed Environmental Park are those of Brian Laundrie."
Laundrie's remains were discovered in an area that had previously been underwater, as reported by BBC News.
On October 12, authorities revealed that Petito died from strangulation during the couple's two-month cross-country trip across the United States.
The Laundrie family's lawyer, Steven Bertolino, told People on Sunday, October 24: "No manner or cause of death was determined, and the remains were sent to an anthropologist for further evaluation."
He added that Laundrie's "remains will be cremated and there will be no funeral service," per Independent.
Bertolino corroborated to Independent that there will be no public service for Laundrie — as there was for Petito.
"The remains will be cremated and turned over to the family," he stated. "There’s no funeral plans at all.”
He detailed that there was "nothing new" with the family, other than their personal grieving.

Earlier this month, the Petito family established a foundation in their late daughter's name — and the first fundraiser is scheduled for later this month in her native Long Island.
"The mission of the foundation is to address the needs of organizations that support locating missing persons and to provide aid to organizations that assist victims of domestic violence situations, through education, awareness, and prevention strategies," a statement on the website reads.
"We wish to turn our personal tragedy into a positive. It is our hope that Gabby’s foundation will bring these important issues into the forefront of the public eye to the benefit of all our communities."
Petito's parents and step-parents are board members of the new foundation.
