A convicted murderer gave a to-camera interview, where she admitted that she should have been given the death penalty.
Sitting down for an interview, Angela Simpson - who was imprisoned for the killing of a man called Terry Neely - was pretty brazen in her remarks after she was jailed...but avoided the fatal death penalty during her trial.
The crime occurred in 2009, when the dismembered remains of a male were found inside a burning trash can.
The man was Terry Neely, a 46-year-old paraplegic man who lived in an assisted living home.
Simpson was caught when, inside her apartment, police discovered remains of a carpet that had been removed, which contained the bloodstains of Neely.
In the interview, Simpson is calm and composed when talking to the journalist.
When asked if she thought justice had been served in the courtroom, Simpson considered the question for a few moments before shaking her head.
"No, I should have gotten the death penalty," she said, before admitting that she didn't want to die. "I would prefer to spend my life with my sisters [her female inmates].
"I do believe [the death penalty] would have been justice."
She went on to say: "I expected to die for this."
Speaking of way she killed Neely, Simpson elaborated: "It was just too much. The things he talked about, [Neely claimed to be a police informant] it was too much."
Simpson explained that, upon Neely presenting evidence that he was indeed an informant, he "picked the wrong person to say that to.
"If he wanted to brag about putting so many people in prison, he picked the wrong person."
The clip ends with the interviewer asking if she believed that Neely was a police informant, or if he had been lying.
She finishes with the line: "Oops if he wasn't."
Angela Simpson pleaded guilty to the murder of Terry Neely in 2012. She was later sentenced to life in prison (avoiding the death penalty), with 14 additional years on other charges.
One commented on the disturbing clip: "She's not [scary], she's honest. Honesty scares most people."
Another added: "Couldn't be smart if she got caught."
A third viewer in particular seemed very affected by the clip, saying: "I find her to be sincere. Regardless of her crime, she seems incredibly genuine. I think we’re not used to seeing such honestly and realness."
