Festivalgoers at Coachella were left horrified after witnessing an acrobat crash to the stage while performing during a live DJ set.
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is an annual event that takes place in Indio, California, across two weekends in April.
It began in 1999 and has developed a huge following ever since, with Coachella being a staple in every celebrity and influencer's calendar.
However, fans watching the opening weekend of this year's festival were left shocked after seeing a performer plummet to the ground during a set.
In a video shared by TMZ, an acrobat was seen twirling high above the stage before seeming to get into difficulty during the routine.
A scream then rang out as the acrobat was seen falling from a height in front of horrified watchers, before being quickly attended to by medics.
According to reports from the publication, the acrobat had been performing for around five minutes on aerial silks when her leg appeared to slip, causing her to fall.
It is not known whether she had suffered an injury in the air or had just lost her grip and was unable to catch herself from falling.
Other members of the acrobatic team rushed to help her as she lay motionless on the ground, before paramedics attended to her and took her away on a backboard.
TMZ reports that the acrobat "appeared to blink" as she was carried out of the area.

The publication also reported that some people in the crowd tried to get the DJ's attention to stop the music while one young onlooker was "so traumatized by what she saw, she fainted".
The acrobat's current condition and the extent of her injuries are as yet unknown and the festival has yet to release any further information or a statement.
It is not the first time a worker has been injured at Coachella, as a rigger fell to his death while setting up for the show in 2019.
The worker, who was a "lead rigger" had worked for the festival for 20 years until his death.
A statement released by Coachella organizers said at the time: "He has been with our team for 20 years in the desert and was doing what he loved.
"He was a hard-working and loving person that cared deeply about his team. As our lead rigger, he was responsible for the countless incredible shows that have been put on at the festival."
They also described the man as "a colleague, a friend, a family member."
Officials said that the man had fallen from a roof while setting up a stage and tragically died by the time medics arrived.
Our thoughts remain with the acrobat and wish them a speedy recovery.
