A college student was tragically shot dead after an innocent mistake he made on a night out.
College baseball catcher Glenn 'Bubba' Pysher, 22, thought the home he arrived at was his friend's home, but he was mistaken.
Police had responded to calls of a possible attempted break-in at the Pennsylvania home and tragically shot him dead.
His mother, Erin Pysher, explained that the young adult was out celebrating a friend's birthday at a bar in Upper Pottsgrove when the party moved to a friend's house.
Glenn walked to what he believed was the right address, in what would be one of his final actions before having his life taken.
The shooting was filmed on surveillance cameras, according to local police, who said that footage would be reviewed as part of an ongoing investigation.
Speaking to 6ABC, Erin explained: “He ended up at the wrong house after having a few drinks.
“He didn’t know that, so he was knocking on the door saying, ‘Hey, let me in,’ thinking it was his friend’s house, but it wasn’t.”
The couple living in the home, which is located on the outskirts of Philadelphia, were frightened and called the police.
Local law enforcement arrived at the scene shortly after a 911 call describing an attempted break-in, according to the Montgomery District Attorney’s Office.
Glenn, who kept trying to enter the home, was confronted by the cops.
They said that they found him at the back of the house, where an “encounter ensued,” leading to officers delivering the fatal gunshots.
“12:32, he was on the phone with his friends. By 12:35, I believe he’s already shot," Erin said.
“So, within a few minutes, the cop pulled up and shot him.”
She alleged her son was “unarmed”, carrying just “a cell phone and a book bag”.
Glenn's mother described him as a 'wonderful young man' who was set to start at Saint Elizabeth University in New Jersey on Monday.
He had transferred school recently, being particularly excited to represent the university's baseball team.
Erin said that her late son was a 'lovable goofball,' adding: “He will walk in the back door and say his favourite thing, ‘Hey mom, your favourite kid is home.’
“He was just happy-go-lucky. Didn’t have a care in the world, and I’m going to miss that.”
Speaking to Fox 29, family friend Kia said: “To see someone that has so much potential because he was so excited about going back to school, lose their life, it hurts.
“He was an amazing soul, young man, never got in any trouble, well-respected.”
Montgomery County Detective Bureau is currently investigating the incident, according to the local district attorney’s office.
