The father accused of forcing his son to run on a treadmill before his tragic death walked out of the ER as medics struggled to save the five-year-old’s life.

As previously reported, Christopher Gregor, 31, has been accused of murdering his son Corey Micciolo, who investigators say suffered an acute traumatic injury to the heart just hours before his passing.

He is also charged with endangering the welfare of a child, which comes after March 2021 footage where Gregor appeared to force the child to use a treadmill, despite the young boy falling off at least six times.

Weeks after the harrowing video was recorded, Corey's mother, Breanna Micciolo, allegedly began to be "concerned" after seeing bruises on his body.

The six-year-old was later rushed to the hospital by his dad, before he was intubated, coded twice, and tragically died, with his autopsy ruling the cause to be blunt force trauma.

Gregor was initially arrested on July 7, 2021, on child neglect charges following investigators reviewing the video. He was arrested once again in March 2022, this time in connection with his son’s death, per Court TV.

The state charged him with murder after a consulting doctor determined the "pattern, distribution, and character of the injuries was consistent with ongoing abuse, and found that the manner of death was homicide," per Too Fab.

On Tuesday (May 7), the court heard from emergency room nurse Lindsay Carnevale, who was treating Corey after the boy was rushed to the hospital by his father.

According to Asbury Park Press, Carnevale disclosed during her testimony that the father walked in and out of his son's room as medics attended to him.

She said that the little boy was brought in with bruises on his chest, chin, and temple, and claimed that Gregor told her that the injuries were from playing football and riding his bike.

In addition to this, the nurse alleged that the man did not want the staff to contact Corey's mother, saying she was a drug addict.

While on the stand, Carnevale revealed that the young boy seized, explaining that his "heart was not beating and he was not breathing" which promoted doctors to begin CPR.

She alleged that during this time, the father walked out of the treatment room and never returned. When asked if he ever came back for the little boy who was in critical condition, the nurse said: "No, he did not."

She was also asked who stayed with Corey during this time, and responded: "We did, we were the only ones with him."

While the child was pronounced dead at 5:03PM, Gregor allegedly left the room before that. "We were still providing life-saving care, there was no pronouncement yet," the nurse testified.

A video shown in court revealed Gregor going in and out of the room before he seemed to break down in the hallway. Despite this, the nurse said the man "showed [a] lack of emotion" when he arrived in the treatment room for the first time.

During cross-examination, Gregor's attorney pointed out how he appeared to be in tears, but Carnevale responded that he still "had [a] lack of emotion" overall.

Another security footage showed him walking out of the hospital at 5:20PM and getting into his car while on his phone.

Sgt. Raymond Coles of the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office testified about the man's behavior in court, saying that Gregor dodged three phone calls from Corey's mother within minutes of their son's death.

He also didn't pick up two calls from the police and began searching: "Can your phone be traced in airplane mode?'' and: "Can my car be tracked?'' on his phone.

Furthermore, he also allegedly searched: "There was a murder determination from an autopsy - how long to file charges?'' on April 4, and seemed to wipe out 3,466 texts between him and Breanna.

The trial is ongoing.
