Donald Trump makes ‘very unusual’ admission about disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s mom
During a recent bill-signing ceremony in the Oval Office, President Donald Trump addressed the ongoing search for Nancy Guthrie, the mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie. Trump expressed his concern over the situation, calling it “terrible” when asked about the missing woman.
Trump also shared his plans to reach out to Savannah Guthrie directly, offering his support. “I’m going to call her later on. I think it’s a terrible thing,” he said. “I always got along very good with Savannah.” The president did not hesitate to indicate that he would consider allocating additional federal resources to the investigation if necessary. "Very unusual situation, but we’re going to find out," Trump added.
Authorities investigate potential abduction and ransom situation
The search for Nancy Guthrie, an 84-year-old woman from Tucson, Arizona, has intensified after authorities discovered troubling evidence at her home. Pima County law enforcement and the FBI are investigating the case, with initial findings suggesting that Guthrie was taken against her will.
Detectives are also exploring the possibility of foul play, with some sources pointing to the discovery of a trail of her DNA inside the home. Authorities, however, have not confirmed whether the substance is blood.
On Tuesday, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed that rumors of ransom notes had surfaced. He acknowledged that an email containing an alleged ransom note had been sent to local news affiliate KOLD, which then passed it along to law enforcement. “We are taking all tips and leads very seriously,” Nanos said. “Anything that comes in, goes directly to our detectives who are coordinating with the FBI.”
At this point, it is still unclear whether the ransom note is authentic or simply a hoax. The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities focused on determining whether this was a targeted abduction or part of a more complex situation.
Savannah Guthrie appeals for prayers as search continues
Savannah Guthrie, a Tucson native, has publicly pleaded for prayers for the safe return of her mother. She shared her distress at the situation, which has left both her family and the public deeply concerned.
Authorities reported that Nancy Guthrie was last seen on the evening of Saturday, February 1, and was reported missing the following day when she failed to attend church. Given Nancy’s limited mobility and reliance on daily medication, the urgency of finding her is even more critical.
As the investigation continues, local and federal authorities are working diligently to uncover the truth behind her disappearance and bring her home safely.
