Donald Trump has taken a verbal swipe at congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her stance on the environment.

The 75-year-old former president made the comments on Saturday night, during an appearance at a rally in Cullman, Alabama. Trump's appearance at the event was in support of Rep. Mo Brooks, who is running for a Senate seat.

And while speaking about the infrastructure bill at the podium, Trump took aim at 31-year-old Ocasio-Cortez, saying: "It's the roadmap to the Green New Deal, conceived and dedicated by AOC, a real beauty. She's a real beauty. [...] She wasn't a good student. Did she ever take a course on the environment?"

Trump's comments echo a similar jibe he made at AOC last August.

Per the New York Post, the former POTUS said during a speech in Ohio that Ocasio-Cortez was "a real beauty"  who "knows nothing about the economy."

"She knows as much about the environment — do we have any young children here? — as that young child over there. I think he knows more. And she certainly knows nothing about the economy," Trump said.

Ocasio-Cortez has previously hit back at Trump over his comments regarding her education, tweeting: "Plenty of people without college degrees could run this country better than Trump ever has.

"As much as GOP cry about 'elites,' they’re the ones who constantly mock food service workers, people w/o degrees, etc as dumb. It’s classist & disgusting."

In a subsequent tweet, she added: "I’ve hired people w/o degrees who have done incredible, effective, & strategic work.

"The more college costs soar, the more degrees become a measure privilege than competence. Our country would be better off if we made public colleges tuition-free & cancelled student loan debt."

And referring to her nickname, she tweeted: “AOC is a name given to me by community and the people. Y’all can call me AOC. Government colleagues referring to each other in a public or professional context (AKA who don’t know me like that) should refer to their peers as ‘Congresswoman’, ‘Representative,’ etc. Basic respect 101.”

During yesterday's rally in Cullman, Trump also took aim at his successor, President Joe Biden, over the US withdrawal from Afghanistan.

"This will go down as one of the great military defeats of all time and it did not have to happen that way. This was not a withdrawal, this was a total surrender, for no reason," Trump said on the matter.
