President Donald Trump has been named the 'Most Admired Man of 2020' in a new poll, with Michelle Obama being named as the 'Most Admired Woman'.

The poll was conducted by Gallup, and saw 18% of the American voters name the outgoing president as the 'Most Admired Man' of the year.

Trump's victory in the poll also saw the end of a 12-year run as 'Most Admired Man' for former US president Barrack Obama - who incidentally finished in second place this year with 15% of the vote.

President-elect Joe Biden came in third, scooping 6% of the vote

Other top contenders for the top-spot included Dr. Anthony Fauci, Elon Musk, and Pope Francis.

And upon hearing the news of his victory, Trump predictably took to Twitter to celebrate his win, and take the opportunity to once again falsely claim voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election.

He wrote to his 88.5 million followers on Wednesday (December 30):

"'Barack Obama was toppled from the top spot and President Trump claimed the title of the year’s Most Admired Man. Trump number one, Obama number two, and Joe Biden a very distant number three. That’s also rather odd given the fact that on November 3rd, Biden allegedly racked up [...]

"'...millions more votes than Trump, but can’t get anywhere close to him in this poll. No incoming president has ever done as badly in this annual survey.' @MarkSteynOnline @TuckerCarlson That’s because he got millions of Fake Votes in the 2020 Election, which was RIGGED!"

Gallup has posed the open-ended 'most admired man' question 74 times since 1946, with the sitting president at the time topping the list on 60 occasions.

This year also marks the 10th time Trump has finished among the top 10 men.

What is quite surprising is that despite Trump taking the top spot in the Men's category, it was Michelle Obama - an outspoken critic of Trump's - who was crowned the 'Most Admired Woman' of 2020.

Gallup has also asked the public to name their 'most admired woman' 71 times since 1948, and 2020 goes to former US first lady Michelle Obama, who received 10% of the vote.

Vice president-elect Kamala Harris came in second with 6% of the vote, and current first lady Melania Trump claimed third place with 4% of the vote.

Other females in the top 10 include Oprah Winfrey, Angela Merkel, Hillary Clinton, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
