Donald Trump's niece has a brutal theory about why 'stalker' Natalie Harp sticks so close to him
The president’s niece has a harsh theory about why Trump has such a close relationship with aide Natalie Harp.
Mary Trump broke down the psychology behind the pair's connection, with a 45-year age gap, in a recent appearance on The Daily Beast Podcast. She began the breakdown by describing the 35-year-old White House employee as having “the qualities of a stalker”.
Mary certainly did not deny that her uncle likes the attention
However, she did mention that her octogenarian uncle certainly does not turn down the attention from his attractive young assistant.
Harp first began working for the Trump administration in 2022, eventually earning the nickname “human printer” after becoming known for following Trump around and handing him printed articles and letters.
When Trump returned to the White House in 2025, Harp became an official Special Assistant to the President and Executive Assistant to the President.
Later in the interview, Mary declared that all of Trump’s relationships are entirely transactional. Speaking about some of his most important relationships, she said: "It should become obvious to him that, you know, his children don't care about him any more than he cares about them.
“Those relationships are determined purely by who's getting what of whom."
Referring to letters written by Harp to Trump in 2023, Mary claimed something is "psychologically wrong with her”, after Harp called her boss her "Guardian and Protector" and admitted she was terrified of disappointing him.
Mary even went as far as to say: "The only case I've ever seen in which the stalking victim has welcomed being stalked."
Explaining why she thinks Trump is so receptive to the attention, she, rather brutally, claimed: "Donald is not getting the attention he needs, because nobody cares about him," adding that Harp "is willing to fill that role."
Last week Trump was caught eyeing up his aide on camera
During a rally in preparation for the upcoming midterms last week, Trump was caught on camera not-so-subtly checking out Harp.
Trump, 80, was speaking about the highly contentious subject of fuel when he summoned Harp, 35, to the stage, after asking her to bring him an executive order that would temporarily allow off-road “dyed” diesel intended for agriculture.
Without addressing her professional responsibility or using her full name, he said: “I’d like to ask Natalie to come out, Natalie, come out, bring it out here, Natalie.”
However, it wasn't what Trump said in the video that sparked the most conversation online; it was his blatant ogling of his assistant, 45 years his junior, with whom he's long been rumored to have more than a working relationship.
As the aide left the stage, Trump turned to the crowd for no longer than a couple of seconds before craning his neck to watch Harp walk off the stage.
Moments after Harp, who is younger than three of Trump’s children, exited the stage, he compared her to a notoriously scantily clad game show host, saying: “She reminds me [of], like, The Price is Right.”
