President Donald Trump has said he has no interest in deporting Prince Harry - for a very unique reason.

This comes despite the Heritage Foundation questioning the royal’s immigration status following his admission of illegal drug use.

The former British royal moved to California with his wife, Meghan Markle, in 2020, seeking privacy and security after tensions with the royal family. The couple shares two children, six-year-old Archie and four-year-old Lilibet.

Heritage Foundation Questions Harry's Visa

The conservative think tank Heritage Foundation has challenged the legality of Prince Harry’s immigration status after he admitted to using illegal drugs in his 2023 memoir, Spare. In the book, Harry revealed he had taken cocaine, cannabis, and psychedelic mushrooms, first trying cocaine at 17 during a hunting weekend.

He said: "Of course I had been taking cocaine at that time. At someone’s house, during a hunting weekend, I was offered a line, and since then I had consumed some more."

The Heritage Foundation has pushed for Harry’s immigration files to be made public, with Nile Gardiner telling the London Daily Telegraph: "Anyone who applies to the United States has to be truthful on their application, and it is not clear that is the case with Prince Harry."

Samuel Dewey, a lawyer with the Heritage Foundation, also told the Daily Mail that Prince Harry should "self-deport" from the United States because he "hates America".

"He's in a country he clearly hates," Dewey claimed. "He's clearly furious at the American voters and attacking them for the result of the 2024 election."

But despite the protests and public backlash over the heavy-handed treatment by ICE and Trump’s deportation plans, the POTUS has clarified he does not intend to deport Harry.

President Trump previously told the New York Post: “I don’t want to do that, I’ll leave him alone."

Trump then quipped: "He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.”

To twist the knife, Trump then added: “I think William is a great young man.”

Tensions With Meghan Markle

Trump has made his views on Meghan Markle known, having previously called her “nasty” but later clarifying he was referring to her comments about him.

“They said some of the things that she said, and it’s actually on tape, and I said: ‘Well, I didn’t know she was nasty.’ I wasn’t referring to she’s nasty - I said she was nasty about me, and essentially I didn’t know she was nasty about me,” Trump told Piers Morgan in 2019.

He elaborated: “So I said, but you know what, she’s doing a good job, I hope she enjoys her life.”

Trump added: “I think she’s very nice. Honestly, I don’t know her. So I have to be honest, I don’t know her but it just shows you how terrible the news can be because if you read that - I’m sure you did, that was talking about nasty - she was nasty about me.”

Meghan has previously spoken out against Trump, calling him “divisive” and a “misogynist” while publicly supporting Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential election.

Harry and Meghan have faced public criticism after sharing a video of Meghan “twerking” while giving birth, with reality stars and critics weighing in on the couple’s actions.

Despite ongoing legal challenges over Harry’s visa, Trump’s statement indicates the couple’s life in Montecito will continue without interference from the current administration.
