Former NBA player Enes Kanter Freedom is back in the centre of controversy after being thrown out of a WNBA game on Tuesday (August 23).
The ex-OKC Thunder and New York Knicks star had previously controversially declared for the WNBA draft weeks ago, in response to those who believe transgender athletes should be allowed to play against biological women.
Last night, he was courtside for a game between the Chicago Sky and the Indiana Fever.
It was like any regular night in the league before things escalated out of control when Sky player Natasha Cloud could be seen shouting at Freedom while walking towards him.
The confrontation resulted in security holding the WNBA star back, as she tried to get closer to Freedom, yelling something at him.
A clip of the altercation went viral, as Cloud could be seen going over to Freedom in the second half, as the pair exchanged words.
Freedom and Cloud could be seen shouting at each other before the former stood up, holding his arms out, almost welcoming the anger from Cloud, who was held back by teammates and security.
She could be removed from the situation before resuming the game, as Freedom was spotted being escorted out of the arena by staff.
The former Portland Trail Blazers player, who stands at six-foot-10, has now claimed that Cloud started the altercation by claiming that one of the Chicago Sky players 'won't sleep with you'.
Speaking to OutKick, he claimed: "Sophie Cunningham shot a three, and I put my hands up to celebrate. Literally, a couple [of] possessions later, Natasha came back and started screaming and yelling and said, 'She's not gonna sleep with you.'
"And I was like, 'I am not trying to sleep with her. I'm just here to protect women and support her.' And then, obviously, after that, she started yapping, and she started to walk towards me, and literally I just got up, and then I was like, 'I'm just here to protect women, and that's all.'"
He further explained: "She started to yell. She started to use some very heavy language.
"She started to actually cuss, and I was very shocked that there were a lot of kids and that there were a lot of teenagers at that game.
"I just cannot believe that she was just cussing and using those F-bombs in front of all these kids. I’m sure she’s loved in Chicago, and many kids are idolizing her and stuff, but that’s not how a WNBA athlete should react," Freedom claimed.
He then took to X, writing: "I just got kicked out of a @WNBA game for supporting WOMEN! Let that sink in, AMERICA!"
He also wrote: "It’s always women hating on other women," a separate post read.
Freedom could be seen arguing with security in a different video as he was escorted out, saying it was "unacceptable."
He was wearing a provocative T-shirt while sat courtside, which included a definition of the word woman.
"Woman. Noun, Adult human female," it read.
Both 'woman' and 'female' were highlighted in red, with some fans using a range of profanities towards him as he was seen watching the game in the arena.
One fan even raised their middle finger in Freedom's face, who was seen flanked by police outside the arena, as he posted a video of the incident captioned, 'We are getting attacked before the @WNBA game in Chicago.'
Other fans didn't care too much about his attendance, giving him high-fives as he walked in.
The former NBA player, who spent 11 seasons in the league, shocked fans by officially declaring himself for the next WNBA draft.
Sophie Cunningham, who plays for the Sky, controversially claimed recently that she wants to 'protect young girls' from 'biological men' in sports.
