A newly released batch of images from Jeffrey Epstein’s private island has revived questions about what really took place inside the disgraced financier’s secluded compound.
Among the photos are unsettling shots of masks mounted on the walls of a room containing a private dentist’s chair – a detail that one former FBI agent says deserves close scrutiny.
Former FBI Agent Flags Concerning Details
Jennifer Coffindaffer, who previously served as Supervisory Senior Resident Agent for the FBI in the Virgin Islands, told the Daily Mail that investigators would not overlook the strange décor.
Although she acknowledged the masks could be decorative, she called them “very interesting” from an investigative standpoint.
“It is not unusual for those involved in sex crimes, particularly crimes involving minors, to wear masks,” Coffindaffer said.
She clarified that there is no direct evidence the masks were used in crimes, but emphasized that investigators would examine them for any signs of use, such as hair or other forensic traces.
Inside the Dentist’s Chair Room
Among the most talked-about images is a room featuring a dentist’s chair surrounded by 11 male faces or busts on the walls.
Coffindaffer said wealthy individuals sometimes install dental equipment at home strictly for convenience, but the combination of the chair and the masks would naturally raise questions for law enforcement.

She noted that investigators would explore all possibilities, including whether the room served a more disturbing purpose.
Coffindaffer questioned whether it could have been a display space or “trophy room,” saying: “Was that room used for anything? Was it a trophy room of those involved in crimes on the island? They don’t ‘seem’ innocent,” Coffindaffer explained.
Chalkboard Writings Offer Glimpse Into Epstein’s State of Mind
Another image shows a chalkboard covered in scribbled phrases such as “power” and “deception,” with other words – including what appeared to be “dark brain” – redacted.
Four chairs arranged in a circle are visible in the room, creating an atmosphere that former agents say would require deeper analysis.
Coffindaffer said such writings could be valuable to behavioral specialists.
The chaotic messages, she explained, reflect the private thoughts of Epstein and could help profile his mindset at the time.
She added that, if she had been leading the investigation onsite, she would have immediately forwarded the chalkboard images to the FBI’s Behavioral Science Unit.
The photos released also include a non-operational steam room piled with towels, linens, and hygiene supplies. Coffindaffer said that the island’s geography, surveillance systems, and limited accessibility all made investigative work uniquely challenging during active inquiry.

Push for Full Release of Epstein Files
Only 14 images and videos were included in the most recent release, part of an ongoing effort by members of the House Oversight Committee to make all Epstein-related documents public.
Some of the unreleased files are believed to reference high-profile individuals, including former President Donald Trump.
Among the newly revealed materials is a 2011 email from Epstein to Ghislaine Maxwell noting Trump’s visits to Epstein’s home, alongside a redacted reference to a victim. Lawmakers continue to push for full disclosure to reveal the extent of Epstein’s network and identify any potential co-conspirators.
Epstein died in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges.
Ghislaine Maxwell remains the only person convicted in connection with his crimes.
The ongoing release of documents is expected to shed new light on the scope of Epstein’s operations and who else may have played a role.
