Eric Trump has said that his dad Donald is the "most beloved political figure" in American history.

In an interview with Fox News, he slammed the Democrats for attempting to impeach his father for reportedly inciting the protests that led to the assault on the Capitol building on January 6.

Listen to Eric make the bold claim below:

Eric told Sean Hannity: "They tried to manufacture everything under the sun against my father, against all of us. They do it every single day. They continue to do it. Even when he's a private citizen, they're still trying to impeach him."

At this point, it's worth noting that Eric misunderstands how impeachment works: it does not allow former presidents to be tried. His father was impeached before he left office in January.

He then continued that "they" [the Democrats] want to "tar and feather the man. They know he did a great job for this nation. They know that there's never been a more beloved political figure in our country's history."

However, while Eric, 37, might believe that his father is the most beloved political figure in US history, this contradicts his approval rating, which stood at just 57% when he left office in January.

This comes after Eric also took aim at the Scottish Green Party after they launched a probe into his father's golf courses in Scotland under an unexplained wealth order.

Prior to the rejection, Eric said per the Irish Times: "At a critical time when politicians should be focused on saving lives and reopening businesses in Scotland, they are focused on advancing their personal agendas.

"The Trump Organisation has invested hundreds of millions of dollars into the Scottish economy, rescued Turnberry, and rebuilt it into one of the finest resorts anywhere in the world.

"In both Aberdeen and Turnberry, the Trump Organisation has created thousands of jobs and has made an overwhelming contribution to the leisure and tourism industry."
