An ex-teacher and her former sheriff's deputy husband are being sued for allegedly serving school children cupcakes laced semen, ABC News affiliate WBRZ has reported.
Dennis and Cynthia Perkins of Livingston, Louisianna, are also facing a slew of charges - including child rape, producing child pornography, and sexual abuse of an animal - following their arrests back in October.
This is the fourth time a civil complaint has been filed against Dennis, 44, and his wife, Cynthia 35.
All four of the lawsuits - each filed separately since November 2019 - surround the couple's counts of mingling harmful substances, The Advocate first reported.
According to court documents, one family is claiming that the two not only served food tainted with bodily fluids to school children, but that Cynthia also showed one female student inappropriate images, as well as photographing and videotaping the girl.
The Attorney General's Office, and subsequently the lawsuits, claim Dennis, a former deputy with the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office, deliberately introduced his semen into a batch of cupcakes. Cynthia, a former teacher at Westside Junior High School, then intentionally served the cupcakes to her students.
Another lawsuit details how the father of a student who ate the cupcakes has since been struggling with debilitating depression, which has hindered his ability to hold down a job.
And a third lawsuit details how a parent and child have been experiencing mental health, behavioral, and sleep issues since learning of the disgusting allegations.
Each of the lawsuits is claiming negligence on the part of the school's board - either in hiring Cynthia Perkins, a lack of oversight of her behavior, or a violation of school policies in allowing homemade food items to be served to students.
Per the Advocate, Livingston Parish Schools spokeswoman Delia Taylor has declined to comment on the lawsuits, saying the district does not comment on pending legal cases.
However, the district has denied any wrongdoing and claims that the plaintiffs asserting any criminal or intentional wrongdoing on the board's behalf is libelous and defamatory.
Assistant Attorney General Matt Derbes discusses the Perkins case below:Per the Daily Mail, Dennis was fired from the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office following his arrest, and was indicted on 78 felony counts.
And wife Cynthia, who resigned from junior high school teaching job on the day she was arrested, was hit with 72 felony counts in the indictment.
The couple was arrested back in October after authorities found a photo of the pair naked with a minor after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Both Cynthia and Dennis Perkins are being held in custody, with no trial date set.
