In an epic oceanic battle between man and beast, a seasoned shark fishing expert achieved the unthinkable by singlehandedly reeling in a colossal 1,200-pound, 12-foot great white shark on the shores of a Florida beach.

Blaine Kenny, co-owner of Coastal Worldwide - a renowned shark fishing outfitter and fishing tour group based in Pensacola - embarked on this remarkable endeavor with his business partner, Dylan Wier, showcasing their prowess and determination to catch the "biggest sharks possible".

In a video posted to their YouTube channel, the duo shared the moment they reeled in a giant great white shark - much to their own amazement.

The daring duo embarked on their quest at Navarre Beach, approximately 25 miles east of Pensacola, with a singular goal in mind — to conquer a mighty ocean predator.

Their strategy was simple but daring — "using the biggest bait possible", which, in this case, was the head from a 150-pound swordfish and another from an 80-pound yellowfin tuna.

With the stage set and cameras rolling, the two anglers cast their rods and patiently waited for what would become an 11-hour-long test of skill, patience, and determination on the pristine shores of Navarre Beach. Check out the full video below:

As dawn broke and the clock struck 8:00AM the following morning, the moment they had been waiting for arrived. A powerful tug on Kenny's fishing line signaled the epic battle that was about to unfold. The adrenaline-fueled struggle commenced - and the entire battle was captured on camera.

Amidst the intense struggle, Kenny's voice echoed with excitement as the great white shark made dramatic leaps out of the water. The battle extended for an hour as the massive creature repeatedly pulled back into the depths, refusing to surrender.

At one point in the video, Kenny expressed the possibility of having to chase the elusive predator.

Wier, serving as Kenny's spotter and source of encouragement, speculated about the identity of the formidable sea creature. He contemplated the possibilities, suggesting it could be a "big, big wintertime shark" and refusing to jump to conclusions.

With the aid of a drone, Wier provided aerial reconnaissance to determine what was on the end of Kenny's line. The revelation left them awe-struck, as Wier exclaimed: "Look at that, that’s a white shark!" Kenny, filled with amazement, continued his arduous battle to bring the shark to shore.

As the intense struggle neared its conclusion, there was a moment of anxiety when Kenny believed the shark had slipped off the line. The relief and joy that followed were palpable as he eventually succeeded in hauling the massive animal into the shallow waters of the shore.

Due to the great white's protected status and conservation efforts, Wier emphasized the importance of swiftly returning the shark back to its natural habitat. In fact, the Daily Mail reports that the fisherman were not officially allowed to measure the shark upon its capture.

With the hook removed and the great white safely released back into the water, Kenny reflected on the indescribable feeling of the encounter. The awe-inspiring moment left him lost for words, highlighting the profound connection between humans and the natural world. "Truly, truly words cannot describe the feeling of this fish right here," Kenny said.

Despite Florida's reputation as the "shark bite capital of the world" due to numerous unprovoked shark attacks in recent years, encounters with great white sharks are rare and extraordinary.

In their own words, Kenny and Wier's mission is to share the exhilaration of fishing and the wonders of the natural world with fellow enthusiasts, offering them the "best seat in the house" to witness awe-inspiring moments like this one.

In just three days, their video has amassed more than 290,000 views on YouTube - with people flooding the comments with praise.

"It's really something watching that beast swim off. Both parties put in hard work. Yes the fish and the fisherman. Somebody had to win this tug of war contest. Today it was Blaine. Congrats bro. You earned it," one person wrote.

Another viewer added: "My hands were sweating just watching you fight that monster. Just amazing! That release was a great look for all anglers."
