The Florida mom who has been accused of a sex act with her family dog has suffered a 'huge loss'.
Malia Nummerdor was recently charged after her husband, Erik, reported the alleged crime to the police, after taking to Facebook to make the heinous claims against her.
The 38-year-old woman was arrested on September 15, and when questioned by authorities, she admitted that she was under the influence.
Malia couldn't explain what she was doing with the dog, believed to be named Ranger, though she insisted that she had no sexual contact with the animal.
Now, a fundraising page for the mom and her two sons has resurfaced, but the money will no longer go towards her legal bills.
This follows an earlier donations page that said the money would help cover Malia’s 'significant legal costs' as she battled the allegations.
The updated appeal now says: "Malia Nummerdor, a mother in her 30s, and her two young boys are facing a situation they never imagined.
"Their lives have been turned upside down following a painful and difficult situation involving Malia’s estranged husband and serious allegations against her that she maintains are untrue."
Organisers wrote: "While the legal process takes its course, the immediate reality is that Malia and her boys have all been deeply affected.
"They have been displaced from their home, their normal routines have been disrupted, and Malia is trying to navigate an incredibly uncertain time while the everyday expenses of life continue."
The appeal also says the mom has lost both of her parents, so she has no 'immediate family support to lean on during a time like this'.
"Instead, she is surrounded by close friends, most of whom she has known for decades, who care deeply about her and are doing everything they can to support her and her family through this situation," they added.
The fundraiser emphasizes that it is 'not asking anyone to decide the facts,' saying 'those questions belong in the legal process'.
Instead, they say the donations will help Malia through 'an extraordinarily difficult period' and relieve everyday financial pressure while her life remains disrupted.
According to an arrest report from the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, Erik told investigators that he had installed two security cameras inside the family's home because money had apparently been disappearing from a coin jar.
However, while looking at footage recorded by a camera in a bedroom, he allegedly found a disturbing video showing his wife with the family dog.
Erik later showed investigators images captured by the camera and gave consent to access the laptop containing additional footage of the alleged encounter.
"He stated the bedroom camera was visible, displayed a blinking red light, and was known to household members," a detective wrote in an affidavit obtained by PEOPLE.
"The camera recorded continuously in rolling intervals, overwriting older footage."
The affidavit states that the security video allegedly showed the woman, from Punta Gorda, Florida, was 'nude from the waist down, positioned with the dog in a manner consistent with sexual activity'.
Malia claimed that her husband installed the cameras without her knowledge and accessed her social media accounts to post images and videos.
She also argued that the recordings were made in 2024 and that Erik had previously threatened to share the videos.
The mom was arrested on a charge of Sexual Activity Involving Animals and has since reportedly been released on bail from Charlotte County Jail.
