A Florida mom's response to police after her husband allegedly caught her performing a sexual act with the family dog has been revealed.
Malia Nummerdor, 38, was arrested and charged after her husband, Erik Nummerdor, reported the disturbing incident to the police.
He had shared the horrific allegations on Facebook and claimed to have photo and video evidence.
Malia's response to police after being questioned
Police interviewed Malia on Tuesday (September 15) about security video allegedly recorded inside the family's home.
One account of the police report states that she reportedly acknowledged she was the person shown in the footage with the dog, but denied that anything had happened.
According to officials, Malia "could not provide a consistent explanation for what was seen on the camera," per PEOPLE.
The mom, who reportedly shares two sons with Erik, was booked into the Charlotte County Jail.
Her mugshot shows her smiling, something Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Prummell specifically addressed while condemning the alleged conduct.
"There are only a few times in my career that I have been at a loss for words. This is one of those times. I simply cannot comprehend this behavior," he said.
"No animal should ever be subjected to this kind of conduct, and you can be sure that we will take action when we learn about it here in Charlotte County.
"And then to smile in the mugshot? I don’t know what there is to smile about when you’ve been arrested for something as disgusting as this," he added.
Husband allegedly found footage while investigating missing money
An arrest report from the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office disclosed that Erik told investigators that he had installed two security cameras inside the family's home because money had apparently been disappearing from a coin jar.
While reviewing recordings from a camera positioned in a bedroom, he allegedly discovered footage showing his wife with the family dog.
Erik later showed investigators images from the recording. He also provided authorities with access to the laptop containing additional footage of the alleged encounter.
"He stated the bedroom camera was visible, displayed a blinking red light, and was known to household members," a detective wrote in an affidavit. "The camera recorded continuously in rolling intervals, overwriting older footage."
The affidavit also notes that the security video allegedly showed the mom "nude from the waist down, positioned with the dog in a manner consistent with sexual activity".
Malia was apprehended in Port Charlotte on charges of sexual activity involving animals, a second-degree felony under Florida law.
She remains at the Charlotte County Jail with a bond amount of $35,000.
