Following the shooting of General Hospital star Johnny Wactor, his ex-fiancée has slammed his killers.

As previously reported, Wactor tragically lost his life while attempting to protect a female co-worker, according to his family.

The 37-year-old actor, known for his role on General Hospital, was fatally shot in downtown Los Angeles over the weekend.

Wactor's mother, Scarlett, told TMZ that her son had just finished a shift at a nearby rooftop bar when he and a co-worker walked to his vehicle early Saturday morning.

Upon reaching his car, they encountered three masked suspects attempting to steal his catalytic converter.

In an interview with KABC, Scarlett explained that her son initially thought his car was being towed and approached one of the suspects.

It was then that he was shot. Paramedics rushed Wactor to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Wactor's former fiancée, Tessa Farrell, tearfully addressed the tragic death of the General Hospital actor, who was fatally shot in downtown Los Angeles early Saturday morning.

Farrell expressed her anguish and anger towards the gunmen, who remain at large.

"If the person who did this, if you’re watching, I’m sorry, but you shot the wrong guy," Farrell said through tears.

"You can get a real job. I know the job market’s hard but we’re all in it together. You don’t have to steal — especially take a life over it."

Farrell concluded her emotional statement with a call for community action to address the rising crime rates, urging for collective efforts to bring about change.

Wactor appeared in over 160 episodes of the ABC soap opera General Hospital.

Following his passing, castmates took to social media to pay tribute to him.

Actress Bonnie Burroughs, who played Wactor's on-screen mother, wrote on Instagram: "It was my great privilege to work with and become friends with this gentle, talented, generous soul. I loved him and grieve for his real mother."

Sofia Mattsson, who played Wactor's on-screen wife, shared her grief, writing: "My heart is so utterly broken... Johnny was the absolute best. So genuine. So caring. Incredibly hard working and humble. With a huge heart that spread so much kindness and joy. He always made sure everyone around him felt seen, heard, and loved."

She continued: "I admire the man he was so much and I'm a better person for having known him. We shared so many special moments, both on and off screen, and I will forever cherish them deeply in my heart. You will be so incredibly missed Johnny... I'm sure you're already busy taking care of everyone up there."
