The NASCAR world was left in shock following the tragic deaths of racing legend Greg Biffle, his wife Cristina Grossu Biffle, and their two young children, Emma and Ryder, in a plane crash on December 18, 2025.
The family, who had been traveling to Sarasota, Florida, for a birthday trip, died alongside two other individuals, Dennis Dutton and his son Jack, in a tragic accident that has left the community reeling.
Now, a holiday card from the Biffles has arrived at a close friend's house, sent before the accident.
A Holiday Card That Will Be Remembered Forever
Days after the devastating crash, a holiday card from the Biffle family was sent to a close friend, offering a final glimpse of their warmth and love.
Ron Herbert, a friend of the family, shared a poignant post on December 21, showing the card he received from Greg, Cristina, and their children just days after their tragic passing.
"I received this in the mail today. My words can't say enough about the family," Herbert wrote in his Instagram post.
The card itself featured a family of four smiling joyfully, each of them looking lovingly at one another.
The message inside read: "We hope that you are able to slow down and enjoy the magic and joy that this season has to offer.
"We hope you have a great New Year! Sending love, Greg, Cristina, Emma & Ryder."
A Final Message from Cristina: Reflection on Life's Journey
Cristina Grossu Biffle shared an Instagram story about success and personal growth just moments before the crash.
At 10:00am, approximately 15 minutes before their plane took off, Cristina reposted a quote from the BossBabe account that celebrated the late-blooming success of Martha Stewart.
The post read: "At 30, Martha Stewart hadn’t started a business. At 35, she launched her catering company. At 58, she became a billionaire."
Cristina added the caption: “These stories are your reminder that you’re not behind… you’re right on time.”
This reflective message, meant to encourage others to trust in their own paths and timelines, would be her final words shared with the world.
Tragically, moments after posting, the plane carrying Cristina, Greg, and their children crashed shortly after taking off from Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina.
Details of the Plane Crash: A Family's Last Journey
The Biffles’ final flight was aboard a Cessna C550, a small private jet owned by Greg Biffle and registered to GB Aviation Leasing. The plane had taken off from Statesville Regional Airport at around 10 AM, headed for Sarasota, Florida.
However, only a few minutes into the flight, the aircraft began flying erratically, performing a figure-eight pattern in the sky before attempting to return to the airport.
Tragically, the jet crashed on landing at approximately 10:15 AM, erupting into flames on the tarmac.
Along with the Biffle family, two other passengers, Craig Wadsworth, Dennis, and Jack Dutton, also lost their lives in the crash.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are actively investigating the cause of the crash, which remains under scrutiny.
