A recent Harvard graduate says she has lost her job after a video of her saying she would "stab" anybody who said "all lives matter" went viral.
Claira Janover - who graduated from the esteemed university back in May with a degree in government and psychology - shared a video to her TikTok account last month in which she blasted people who counter the Black Lives Matter movement by saying "all lives matter".
Janover's controversial video can be seen below:In the clip, Janover blasts "the sheer entitled caucasity" for people to say "all lives matter".
The Connecticut native then says she will "stab" anybody who says the inflammatory retort, adding:
"Imma stab you. And while you’re struggling and bleeding out, Imma show you my paper cut and say: 'My cut matters too.'"
Janover was heavily criticized on social media for her comments, with one Twitter-user writing: "Can someone forward this video to the New Haven CT police department. This woman is threatening people, who knows what she is capable of."
Another typed: "Does this not count as violent speech? I guess it only counts when it fits the narrative."
In response to the backlash, Janover posted a series of videos in which she slams "Trump Twitter" for sending her "death threats" for her original comments. In the clip below, Janover clarifies that her initial comments were an "analogous joke".
She ends the video above by saying: "Know that I appreciate you guys standing up for me. I love you guys. Hopefully I'm not killed by a Trump supporter."
In a tweet posted in July 1, Janover once again thanked those supporting her, and said that she would not be "silenced, shamed, or threatened into silence". She wrote:
"Despite the death, rape, expulsion, and firing threats I got today...I am so grateful for everyone who has stood by, supported, & defended me and #BlackLivesMattter. I will not be silenced, shamed, or threatened into silence by bigoted trump fans who don’t understand analogies."
Now, in her most recent Twitter video, an emotional Janover has said that she has lost her job with Deloitte.
In the video, Janover says: "Trump supporters took my job away from me. I have gotten death threats, rape threats, violent threats. It was okay, but now my future's entirely compromised because Trump supporters have decided to come for my life."
She then addresses "all lives matter, racist Trump supporters", telling them that she is "too strong for any of you".
Janover adds: "It sucks but it doesn't suck more than systemic racism And I’m not going to stop using my platform to advocate for it."
Addressing her former employers, Janover says: "I'm sorry, Deloitte, that you can’t see that. That you were cowardice [sic] enough to fight somebody who’s going to make an indelible change in the world and is going to have an impact."
Per the New York Post, Deloitte is yet to respond to Janover's comments.
