A haunted house actor has reportedly stabbed an 11-year-old boy's foot while attempting to scare him.
The incident took place at the 7 Floors of Hell attraction in Berea, Ohio, when an actor with a real Bowie knife tried to scare the child and struck his foot on September 18, CNN reports.
The child's mother, Karen Bednarski, told CNN affiliate WEWS-TV: "He walked up to my son and he was holding the knife, and his intentions were to scare him, but my son responded to him by saying, 'That's fake. I'm not scared.'"
WEWS-TV reported that in response to the boy, the actor started dragging the knife along the ground to prove that it was real, and this is what led to it striking the boy's Crocs and cutting his big toe.
Watch a full news report about the incident below:The boy was administered first aid after he was struck by the knife, Rodney Geffert, the president of Night Scream Entertainment which owns 7 Floors of Hell, revealed, and the wound was about a third of an inch long.
The boy required a bandage, but he refused to have further medical attention, and he and his mother decided to finish the horror house afterward.
"I didn't want to make a scene, of course. I wanted to go about it the appropriate way," Bednarski said of why they decided to complete the attraction.
Geffert said that the actor was let go after the incident and that the 7 Floors of Hell attraction has "strict rules and protocols" about the use of real weapons.
"He did something he wasn't supposed to be doing," Geffert said. "He went to his car and did this of his own free will and we don't tolerate or put up with that."

Berea Police Department Lt. Tom Walker told WEWS that the actor, 22, was charged with negligent assault after the incident.
"I can't explain why he brought the real knife," Walker said.
"He should have been using a fake prop or rubber, rubber knife. Obviously a poor decision on his part to bring a real knife to the fairgrounds. And he's been criminally charged with negligent assault as a result of making that decision."
