People have voiced their heartbreak and outrage after an eight-year-old girl revealed that the recent shooting at the Nationals game was the second she has experienced.
According to CBS Sports, the game between the Washington Nationals and the San Diego Padres at Nationals Park in Washington D.C. was interrupted on Saturday, July 17, when gunfire erupted from between two cars outside the stadium.
However, initial confusion and panic led to many mistakenly believing that the shooter was inside the baseball park, leading to spectators rushing for the exit. Police later reported that three people were shot in the incident - one of whom was an innocent bystander.

One of the attendees of the game was eight-year-old Faris Nunn, who was sitting by third base when the shots rang out.
Following the incident, Faris was interviewed by WUSA9 and described the chilling experience in a heartbreaking video that has since emerged on social media. You can hear her comments below:
Nunn calmly told the reporter: "I saw people looking that way. And I didn't know what was going on until I heard someone say get down, so I just started going under the seats.
"It was my second shooting, so I was kind of prepared... because I always am expecting something to happen."
A number of social media users have since taken to Twitter to express their outrage over the little girl's trauma.
For example, one person wrote: "THIS is really messed up…any person that’s reasonable should agree this child shouldn’t be this calm when talking about an experience such as this."
Another Twitter user tweeted: "Children shouldn’t have to be prepared for something bad to happen. Our society has a problem, when are kids are exposed to traumatic events, far too often."
Another commented: "The phone of every member of Congress should be ringing off the hook, non-stop, until we get gun law reform.
"How have we allowed ourselves to be a society where we watch something like this & then just have to go on with our days, burying the gutted feeling we have? [sic]"
Per CBS, Saturday's game was suspended for the night in the bottom of the sixth inning with the Padres leading, 8-4. The game would eventually go on to be restarted on Sunday, with the Padres securing a 10-4 win.
