Heartbreaking video of Kobe Bryant talking about his daughter Gianna on Jimmy Kimmel is being shared

NBA legend Kobe Bryant has died at the age of 41. The basketball star passed away in a tragic helicopter crash along with nine other people, one of whom was his own daughter, Gianna.

Per Variety, the NBA legend was traveling in his private helicopter, which crashed in Calabasas in the state of California on Sunday morning.

According to TMZ, Kobe and his daughter Gianna were on their way to the Mamba Academy for basketball practice in nearby Thousand Oaks when the tragic accident occurred.

Now a video has emerged on social media, which shows the sporting legend talking about his daughter, and expressing his pride in and admiration of her, in a prior interview

In the 2018 episode of the eponymous talk show, Bryant told host Jimmy Kimmel: "[Gianna will] be standing next to me, and it'll be like, 'And you gotta have a boy. You and V gotta have a boy, have somebody carry on the tradition, the legacy.' She's like, 'I got this. No boy for that, I got this.'"

He also spoke about coaching his daughter's basketball team, stating: "It's not that, some of them may want to play in WNBA, some of them may not, but we try to give them a foundation of the amount of work and preparation that it takes to be excellent."

Reacting to the news on Twitter, Kimmel stated: "He was great, charismatic & among the hardest-working athletes ever,but what impressed me most was how deeply-involved Kobe was with his 4 daughters. [sic]"

Kimmel continued: "Pray for them, Vanessa, his parents & his fellow passengers' families on this sad and shocking day. We will never forget you Kobe [sic]"
