Following an intense election night, it has been confirmed that the former business tycoon has secured his victory over Kamala Harris, setting the stage for his second term in office as the nation's 47th President of the United States.
With the win, the 78-year-old has become the second person in US history to reclaim the office after losing his first bid for re-election.
Though Trump managed to secure over 50 percent of the votes compared to Harris' 47.6 percent, murmurs of disbelief and controversy continue to swirl among his critics.

Immediately after the polls projected Trump's triumph, celebrities took to social media to express their sadness over the results.
Singer Billie Eilish posted a brief yet powerful statement on her Instagram Stories.
"It’s a war on women," the 22-year-old, who proudly endorsed Harris on multiple occasions, wrote.

Actress Christina Applegate also took to X to vent, revealing that her daughter had been left feeling overwhelmed over the result.
"Why? Give me your reasons why????? My child is sobbing because her rights as a woman may be taken away. Why? And if you disagree, please unfollow me," she wrote before adding: "Unfollow me because what you did is unreal,” she wrote. “Don’t want followers like this. So yeah. Done.
"Also after today I will be shutting down this fan account that I have had for so many years because this is sick," she concluded.
Fans questioned what other platforms they can follow the star on, to which she responded stating: "Nowhere. Come morning all fan sites will be gone because of this piece of human garbage."
Former Glee actor Kevin McHale also tweeted: "Bloodbath," and nothing else.
Jamie Lee Curtis also posted a lengthy statement to her Instagram account acknowledging that there will be a divide of emotions throughout the country.
"So the results are in," she started. "Many will be celebrating, possibly even gloating over their victory. Many will be stunned and sad with the terrible feelings of the loss. That is the same result despite who wins because that’s what America and democracy looks like. Has always looked like."
She continued: "So what does it mean? It means a sure return to a more restrictive, some fear draconian time. Many fear their rights will be impeded and denied. “Many, minority groups and young people will be afraid."
She went on to talk about the LGBTQIA+ community and how they will be impacted by the result.
"Gay and trans people will be more afraid. We know that many women will now find it difficult to get the reproductive healthcare that they need and deserve. For all those people there will be those who will help you. Me included," she wrote. "But what it really means is that we wake up and fight.
"Fight for women and our children and their futures and fight against tyranny, one day at a time. One fight at a time. One protest at a time. That’s what it means to be an American. That’s what it has always meant and will always mean regardless of the outcome," she added, before concluding: "Be gentle with people today. Be gentle with yourself today. Feel your feelings today but most of all... Be an American today."
Sophia Bush took to her socials to refer to Trump supporters as the "MAGA gang."
"Great job giving the MAGA gang more power, America. Wonder how many folks are seeing this and STILL saying 'But but but at least he’s not a Black woman!' in the privacy of their homes tonight. My heart is broken," she said.
Lili Reinhart, one of the stars of the Netflix show Riverdale, addressed the claims of sexual assault against the new 47th president.
"I cannot fathom the feeling of the women who came forward about their sexual assault at the hands of Trump," she wrote. "Seeing millions of people vote for their abuser. My heart absolutely breaks for these women. I believe you, and I am so sorry."

Ethel Cain posted a long reflection, criticizing "an embarrassingly large chunk of white men" whom she described as aligning with "power in ways that foster hatred." Her post concluded with the message: "If you voted for [Trump], I hope peace never finds you."
However, not everyone was upset.
Lil Pump, a vocal Trump supporter, shared a selfie wearing a MAGA hat with Trump on a TV screen behind him, writing: "They put him in jail, try to assassinate him, and he’s still here... a f****** warrior MAGA."
Caitlyn Jenner, a notable transgender figure, also took to her X account to praise Trump's win.
"Hope is back in America," she wrote on November 6. "These two men will single-handedly save western civilization and that starts with a strong United States of America. I am here and at your service and forever indebted to your sacrifice for this country. Let’s Make America Great Again!"
And of course, tech billionaire Elon Musk has been posting messages all over his X account expressing his happiness at the result.
