US Vice President Kamala Harris was not having any of the talking back during a protest at one of her rallies in Michigan as she continued her tour of America’s key swing states.

Harris was delivering a speech at an aircraft hangar in Detroit, Michigan, packed with their supporters when a handful of pro-Palestine protestors from the crowd started heckling her.

A group of young voters gathered together to shout: "Kamala, Kamala, you can’t hide - we won’t vote for genocide" as the newly elected Democratic nominee continued delivering her presentation on why making America's middle class stronger mattered.

Of course, these protestors are referring to Israel’s retaliatory military campaign in Gaza, which has killed about 40,000 Palestinians.

The United States, along with other nations around the world, is responsible for arming the state, spending billions of taxpayers' money on military weapons that have been used in the ongoing assault on the area.

As Harris stopped speaking, other crowd members drowned out the chants by repeatedly shouting her name to show their support for her.

Shortly after, the protestors were escorted out of the venue, but not before the 59-year-old got the last say.

"I’m here because I believe in democracy. Everyone’s voice matters," Harris stated, addressing the protesters directly. "But I am speaking now. I am speaking now."

The crowd erupted into a chorus of applause, with social media users later taking to X to commend the Democratic leader for her response after the video was posted online.

"As she should!' wrote one user, while another added: "Kids, that's what we used to call a mic drop.'"

A third also chimed in, writing: "Oh my god I started crying, ugly crying, I have waited all my life to see a powerful woman taken seriously, standing tall ready to lead this powerful country. It was an emotional moment after so many years of wishing and waiting, I hear that glass shattering it's a beautiful sound."

However, not everyone was impressed.

"Interesting choice of words when what’s being demolished are these people’s actual families in Gaza," wrote this user, referring to the video's caption stating that Haris "demolished" the protestors.

"Alternatively, she could have acknowledged their concerns and expressed solidarity," this person also stated.

It comes shortly after the war in Gaza has surpassed 300 days.

According to Al Jazeera, the latest death toll stands at 40,263 Palestinians, and 1,139 people killed in Israel since October 7 when the country began intensifying its military assault on Gaza.
