The kid who fell victim to the ‘Phillies Karen’ has offered a heartbreaking statement after the woman stole a home run ball he’d been gifted by his dad.

The incident took place during Friday night’s game in Florida between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Miami Marlins, when Harrison Bader hit a home run into the left field stands of Miami's loanDepot Park.

Fans were seen scrambling for the ball before a man emerged and gave the ball to his son.

Unfortunately, seconds later, a woman appeared and shouted at the man, who reluctantly gave her the ball out of his son's glove.

‘Phillies Karen’ goes viral after taking home run ball from child

This story is reminiscent of another incident that occurred at the US Open tennis recently, where a man was seen to grab a hat off a child who was given it by Polish player Kamil Majchrzak.

After that, the millionaire responsible owned up and released a statement expressing his sadness and regret

Luckily, the youngster got to meet the player and got a reward of his own afterwards.

However, it remains to be seen whether we’ll see similar contrition in this case.

The woman seemed to shout at the kid’s father after he got the ball and gave it to his son, prompting the dad to give her the ball.

Now, the dad and son have spoken out about the incident.

Feltwell explained how the family had attended the game for Lincoln’s upcoming 10th birthday, and he saw the chance to do something special.

“We’re just trying to make this week about him," he shared.

"I felt like super dad putting that ball in his glove and giving him a hug.”

However, the ‘Phillies Karen’ had other ideas.

According to Drew, she shouted, ‘that’s my ball’ at him.

“[I’m] still in disbelief that she walked down there like that," Feltwell continued.

When pressed about why he gave the ball up, he said he was "just trying to set an example of how to de-escalate a situation in front of my son, I guess."

The woman was then reportedly booed out of the stadium minutes later, and a Phillies rep came to visit the family to offer some recompense.

Feltwell also said that the Marlins staff were ‘super’ and gave his son a bag of stuff.

They also met Harrison Bader after the game and received a bat.

Lincoln Feltwell issues heartbreaking statement after encounter with ‘Phillies Karen’

Speaking of his own side of events, young Lincoln Feltwell said: “I wasn’t very happy that we had to give it to her, but we can’t win.

”She was going to get it anyways.”

However, some of his disappointment was tempered by the fact that he got to meet the players afterwards.

“I'm happy I got to get something else. It was very, very fun getting to meet Bader,” he concluded.

As for his dad, he said that he regrets giving up the ball, even if he did so almost out of shock.

"Putting the ball in his glove and then taking it back out killed me,” he said.

Opening the door to some reconciliation, he added that he would respect the woman if she came forward and offered the ball, although he concluded: “I hope that ball means a lot to her.”
