Congresswoman Lauren Boebert's son was arrested and faces 22 criminal charges, including five felonies.

The 37-year-old's son, Tyler Jay Boebert, was apprehended on Tuesday (February 27) after a "recent string of vehicle trespass and property thefts" in Rifle, Colorado, as reported by NBC News.

Tyler, 18, was hit with five felony charges, four for criminal possession of ID documents with several victims, and one conspiracy to commit charge, according to the Rifle Police Department.

The New York Post added that he also faces misdemeanor charges of four first-degree criminal trespassing of an automobile with intent to commit a crime, four charges of identity theft, possession with intent to use, and two charges for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. In addition to this, he was handed three counts of theft of under $300.

As of Wednesday morning (February 28), the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office listed the Congresswoman's son as an inmate in the county jail with no bond amount or release date set.

"This is an ongoing investigation, no further information will be released at this time," the police stated in the Facebook post. "All suspects are considered innocent until adjudicated guilty in a court of law."

The arrest isn't the first time that Tyler has had a run-in with the law as in April 2023 Noble D'Amato, 19, alleged that an accident, in which the lawmaker's son was driving, left him hospitalized with concussions and a hand injury.

D'Amato, 19, claimed that Tyler took a curve too fast and flipped his father's SUV on September 17, 2022, according to the Daily Mail. He also alleged that the injuries left him unable to continue his welding career, and accused the political family of covering it up.

"I still have problems with my hand. My thumb almost got cut off. It prevented me from getting a welding job because I can't hold a TIG torch anymore. I'm a personal-care provider now," he told Westword.

D'Amato claimed that Tyler - who welcomed a child with his girlfriend - was "stone cold sober" at the time of the accident, adding: "And he still f**king flipped us. That shows you how much he just doesn't care. He was driving so f**king fast."

The outlet reported that at the time, the teen got a careless driving ticket, which was later dropped down to a "defective vehicle for headlights" ticket following the acceptance of a plea deal. He had to go through a court-ordered driving school, dubbed Alive at 25, and attend a court hearing.

The news of Tyler's arrest comes after his mom - who is a far-right Republican, and a staunch ally of former President Donald Trump - was granted a restraining order against her ex-husband, Jayson Boebert.

The congresswoman alleged in a Garfield County court filing on February 2 that her former partner threatened to harm her and himself over 14 months, per The New York Post.

The lawmaker's three children were also included under the protection, while Tyler wasn't as he is an adult.
