A man who participated in the Capitol riots on January 6 claims that he's running for Congress in the near future.

Per NBC News Boston, New Hampshire resident Jason Riddle stated that he plans on running to represent New Hampshire's second district in a campaign against Democrat Annie Kuster in 2022.

Take a look at this interview with Riddle in the video below:

In an interview on June 13, Riddle stated: "I guess: 'Let’s Get Back to Work.’ That’s going to be the slogan I go with."

He also appeared undeterred by the possible ramifications of his participation in the riots, stating: "In the long run, if you’re running for office, any attention is good attention, so I think it will help me.

"It tells them I show up. I’m going to actually keep my promises and make some changes."

Riddle was arrested by the FBI in February. He was charged with knowingly entering a restricted building, violent entry, disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds, and theft of government property.

He admitted to investigators that he "chugged" wine he found in the Office of the Senate Parliamentarian and stole a book which he sold for $40 while participating in the civil disorder on January 6.

Per NBC, Riddle is currently prohibited from going to Washington, D.C., while the misdemeanor charges for his alleged role in the riots are pending.

However, he has a court date next month and is hopeful his clean record and veteran status will work in his favor.

He added: "Despite my ongoing legal problems, I'm supposed to live my life the way I want, and I want to do this, so why not?"

This comes not long after a man who was infamously recorded threatening Black Lives Matter protestors with a rifle announced that he would also be running for office.

Take a look at this news report on McCloskey's campaign in the video below:

CBS News reported that 63-year-old St. Louis resident Mark McCloskey made public his intent to become Senator of Missouri on Tucker Carlson's show on Fox News on May 18.

McCloskey told Carlson: "God came knocking on my door last summer disguised as an angry mob. And it really did wake me up."

In a later statement made on Twitter, the personal injury lawyer wrote to his 21,000 followers: "An angry mob marched to destroy my home and kill my family, I took a stand to defend them.

"I am a proven fighter against the mob. When the mob comes to destroy our home, our state, our nation— I’ll defend it. I will NEVER BACK DOWN. Help me FIGHT BACK. [sic]"
