A heroic man has been spotted risking his life to save a dog as Hurricane Ian descends on Florida.
After reaching Cayo Costa as a category four storm, millions of people in Florida are seeing their homes decimated by severe flooding and high winds reaching speeds of up to 241km/h (150mph).
As streets turn into rivers, BBC News reports that many people have evacuated the state - with other Floridians opting to take shelter where possible, as Governor Ron DeSantis warned residents of ""a nasty, nasty" couple of days".
However, there are heartwarming acts being captured on the streets of Florida - such as this man, who was captured putting his own safety at risk in order to rescue a dog.
Check out the heroic moment below:The incredible video shows the man wading through waist-deep harbor water in Fort Myers and carrying the pooch in his arms. After reaching the edge of the harbor, he is able to hand the dog to another man, who has been identified as NewsNation's Brian Entin.
As you can see from the video, the dog looks overjoyed to once again be safe.
Entin later tweeted that the man also went back to save a cat.
The incredible footage has already amassed more than 1.1 million views on Twitter, with many social media users praising the man's bravery.
"Wow that was extremely dangerous. You can see that the black sailboat is not even tied down," one person tweeted.
Another added: "That dog is so happy to be alive!"

Hurricane Ian has been wreaking havoc along the Florida coast since it made landfall on Wednesday afternoon (September 28).
O two million homes have lost electricity.
Since then, the hurricane’s journey inland has seen it lose power and be downgraded to a category one storm. Northern Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina are among the areas projected to be hit next. Per BBC News, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has warned people in the storm’s path to prepare for "a nasty, nasty" couple of days.
As of Wednesday evening, Hurricane Ian weakened to a Category 1, but is still blasting sustained winds of 90mph and has left devastating flooding in its wake.
Our thoughts go out to everybody battling the storm at this time. Stay safe.
