Jordan Willis, the Kansas City Chiefs fan who discovered his three friends frozen to death in his backyard, has reportedly checked into rehab as he confronts his addiction issues in the wake of the tragic incident.

The tragic discovery of the bodies of Ricky Johnson, 38, Clayton McGeeney, 36, and David Harrington, 37, occurred on January 9, in the backyard of Willis' rental home in Kansas City.

The three men were last seen alive on January 7 - where the men had gathered to watch the Kansas City Chiefs playoff game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

A source close to the Willis' family shared with Fox News Digital that Willis is taking proactive steps to address his addiction problems, describing the loss of his friends as an "enormous wakeup call."

While the exact nature of his addiction remains undisclosed, Willis is said to be committed to his recovery.

Per the New York Post, Alex Waemer-Lee - another friend who attended the evening - had left the gathering around 11:00PM that night, allegedly leaving the four others behind watching Jeopardy!

According to Willis' attorney, Andrew Talge, when the bodies were found nearly two days later, Willis claimed to have been asleep for an extended period and was unaware of his friends' deaths outside.

Toxicology reports for the deceased men are pending, although it was reported that two of them arrived at Willis' home with two 30-packs of beer, as relayed by a neighbor. Additionally, Waemer-Lee allegedly texted friends about drug use at the watch party, per Fox News Digital.

While the police have not labeled the case as foul play, some family members of the deceased have raised concerns about Willis' involvement. David Harrington's father, Jon Harrington, voiced his suspicions, stating: "There were four of you in the house, and now three of them are dead, and you're not. That doesn't add up."

Jonathan Price, the brother of Johnson, criticized law enforcement for the lack of transparency in the investigation.

Speaking with News Nation's Chris Cuomo on Monday, Price expressed frustration, stating: "As a brother, I'm looking at everything."

He disclosed another disturbing allegation, saying: "Harrington was found on a lawn chair on the back porch, rather than all three laying flat, which paints a picture we didn't have from the very beginning."

Alayna Gonzalez, a spokeswoman for the Kansas City Police Department, emphasized: "This still remains a death investigation and nothing more. We still have no evidence or indication of foul play, no one is in police custody."

Willis, deeply affected by the loss of his friends and the ensuing scrutiny, has faced accusations without any supporting evidence or charges. He quickly relocated from his home and sought refuge in a nearby rental property due to concerns about potential "retaliation".

His father, Rodney Willis, has publicly defended him, asserting that Jordan would never harm his friends intentionally.
