Melissa Joan Hart has shared a heartbreaking video in which she revealed she was at the scene of Monday's devastating school shooting in Nashville.

On March 27, three nine-year-old students and three adults were killed at the Covenant School in Nashville - a private Christian elementary school - after a former student carried out a calculated attack on the facility.

Those who lost their lives have been named as students Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney - all nine years old - and substitute teacher Cynthia Peak, age 61, principal Katherine Koonce, age 60, and custodian Mike Hill, age 61."

The Metro Nashville Police Department has since identified the shooter as 28-year-old Audrey Hale.

Hale was killed by officers following their arrival at the scene.

Now, Sabrina The Teenage Witch star Melissa Joan Hart has revealed that she assisted in getting children to safety amid the chaos.

Sharing an Instagram video with her 1.7 million followers, Hart explained that her children attend a school next to The Covenant.

The 46-year-old actor captioned the clip: "Prayers today, Action tomorrow. This was too raw to post yesterday but wanted you to hear this story."

"We moved here from Connecticut, where we were in a school a little ways down from Sandy Hook, so this is our second experience with a school shooting with our kids being in close proximity," Hart continued.

"Luckily, we are all okay, but... my husband and I were on our way to school for conferences and — luckily our kids weren't in today — and we helped a class of kindergartners across a busy highway that were climbing out of the woods," she said with tears in her eyes.

"They were trying to escape the shooter situation at their school, so we helped all these tiny little kids cross the road and get their teachers over there. And we helped a mom reunite with her children," the star added.

She concluded the video by saying: "Enough is enough. And just pray, pray for the families."

Hart and her husband Mark Wilkerson share three sons: Mason, 17; Braydon, 15; and 10-year-old Tucker.

As the nation continues to mourn the loss of the victims, Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee has issued a statement, per CNN.

"All of Tennessee was hurt yesterday, but some parents woke up without children, children woke up without parents and without teachers, and spouses woke up without their loved ones," Gov. Lee said.

"We can all agree on one thing – that every human life has great value," he continued. "We will act to prevent this from happening again. There is a clear desire in all of us, whether we agree on the action steps or not, that we must work to find ways to protect against evil."

Gov. Lee also revealed that he and his wife were friends with two of the adults who lost their lives in the shooting; Cynthia Peak and Katherine Koonce.

"Maria woke up this morning without one of her best friends," he explained. "Cindy and Maria and Katherine Koonce were all teachers at the same school and have been family friends for decades."

Our thoughts continue to go out to the victims' families and anybody affected by this tragedy.
