A female teacher is missing after she was abducted during an early morning jog in Memphis, Tennessee, on Friday, police say.

Per WHBQ-TV, authorities say Eliza Fletcher, 34, was thrown into a dark SUV by an unidentified individual near the University of Memphis at about 4:20 AM, in the area of Central Avenue.

According to the outlet, Fletcher is a teacher at St. Mary's Episcopal School and she often goes jogging near the university.

In a statement obtained by WHBQ-TV, St. Mary's Head of School Albert Throckmorton confirmed Fletcher had been abducted.

"We have not told our younger students about Mrs. Fletcher," the statement reads. "We are supporting the older students as they learn of the news."

Authorities say Fletcher, a mother of two, was last seen on surveillance footage dressed in a pink active wear top, blue shorts, and tennis shoes before she was taken. A photograph of the vehicle used by the suspect has also been released.

Fletcher's family is offering a reward of $50,000 through Crimestoppers to anyone who has any information that might lead to any individuals responsible for her abduction being detained by police.

"We look forward to Eliza's safe return and hope that this award will help police capture those who committed this crime," Ms Fletcher's family said, per WDJT.

The family of the kidnapped woman also released the following statement - read by Fletcher's uncle Michael Keeney - via a video through the Memphis Police Department on Saturday.

"Liza has touched the hearts of many people," he said, adding that his family have received a great deal of love and support in recent days, per NBC News.

"The family has met with police, and we have shared with them all the information we know. More than anything we want to see Liza returned home safely."

Fletcher is described as being a 5ft6 white female with brown hair and green eyes.

Police are asking that anyone who happens to see her or the suspect vehicle report the sighting immediately by calling 911.

The MPD can also be reached at 901-545-COPS.

The FBI and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are also assisting on the case.

UPDATE: The suspect vehicle has now been found and a male inside the vehicle was detained for questioning on Saturday afternoon, CBS News reports. However, police are yet to find Fletcher.
