A man has been arrested after a mother went viral on social media after alleging that she captured a "possible trafficker" stalking her while she was in Walmart with her daughter.

Last month, MaryBeth Nappa - who goes by the handle @dd_escapades on TikTok - detailed her startling account in a now-viral video, which amassed 8.9 million views and 1.1 million likes.

The mother was with her daughter in the Cicero megastore shopping for school supplies when she pulled out her phone and started recording the suspicious man.

"So this guy is like following me in Walmart while I'm with my daughter," she explained after panning the camera toward him and zooming in. "He keeps following me. I don't know him, and he's following me and recording me."

In the video, the mother said that the man left after "he realized I started recording him," so she showed the clip to an employee who agreed it was "really weird" and "creepy". The worker then went to get her store manager to have the man removed from the premises.

"I don't know if he's just some weirdo. I don't know if he's on drugs or drunk, or if he's part of some trafficking thing, but always be aware of your surroundings and record and report," MaryBeth advised.

In a follow-up video, the TikTok user revealed that the strange man "has been identified" after she posted the video of him allegedly following her.

"He is a registered sex offender, class 1. He was arrested for molestation and rape. We know where he lives. We know his phone number. We know his name," she alleged.

MaryBeth also reported that both her footage and the store's security footage were shared with the man's parole officer as evidence.

"The reason why you videotape and take pictures is so you can give it to the police and you can post it everywhere locally and blast that person’s face everywhere so they cannot hide and they get caught," she explained.

Speaking to local station WSYR-TV about her ordeal, she said: "If you have a gut feeling something isn't right, then it's probably not right."

The mother told the outlet she went "on high alert" when she saw that the man - since identified by police as Eric Fuller - "walked past the aisle we were in and turned around and stood at the end of the aisle".

According to People, online records confirmed that Fuller, 33, - who has since turned himself in - was charged with fourth-degree stalking.
