An Oklahoma man has allegedly shot a woman trying to steal a Nazi flag from his home, according to police reports.

Investigators said Alexander John Feaster, 44, shot the 26-year-old woman multiple times with an AR platform rifle without warning as she fled the scene, causing her to sustain injuries to her lower abdomen and legs, the Garfield County sheriff's office said in an affidavit obtained by the Enid News & Eagle.

Sheriff Jody Helm told KFOR-TV that when police arrived at around 3 am on Sunday, the woman was found in a ditch as several people attempted to administer first aid.

The woman had been attending a party across the street, but Helm said there was "conflicting information" about her reasons for stealing the flag to NBC News.

Feaster was arrested without incident, police said, and the affidavit revealed that several firearms, ammunition and military-style gear were located in his home.

Neighbors told KFOR that Feaster's two Nazi flags had been flying outside his home for around year and they had previously been stolen.

"His flags got stolen a couple of times when he first put them out, but nothing ever came of it," a neighbor said. "This is the first time it's ever come to violence."

The 44-year-old was said by neighbors to wear a black uniform and a red swastika armband in public, but he kept himself to himself.

Per the Daily Mail, the News & Eagle reported that Feaster was charged with a felony count of assault and battery with a deadly weapon on Wednesday.

He is currently behind held at the Garfield County Detention Center with a bond of $500,000.

The woman is being treated at the hospital for her injuries and she is expected to survive them. However, it's not known whether she will face charges for attempting to steal Feaster's Nazi flags.
