Police have shared an update about Rob Reiner's son after the Hollywood director and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead, reportedly with knife wounds, in their LA home.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call for medical aid at approximately 3:30PM on December 14.
When they arrived at the Brentwood residence, they discovered the bodies of a 78-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman.
Multiple sources close to the family have confirmed that the victims were Rob and Michele Reiner, and alleged that the couple’s 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, was a suspect - though police have not yet officially named a suspect or made any arrests.
According to PEOPLE, officials disclosed that Nick is currently alive and being questioned by law enforcement.

The shocking deaths have stunned the entertainment world. Rob Reiner, best known for directing Hollywood classics like When Harry Met Sally..., The Princess Bride, and A Few Good Men, was also a beloved actor, first gaining fame as Mike on the sitcom All in the Family.
He was the son of legendary comedian Carl Reiner and actress Estelle Lebost.
Reiner met Michele Singer while directing When Harry Met Sally..., and the two married in 1989.
They had three children together, including Nick, who has previously spoken publicly about his long battle with drug addiction.
In a 2016 interview, Nick revealed that his substance abuse began in his early teens and led him to homelessness and repeated stints in rehab.
His experiences later inspired the film Being Charlie, which he co-wrote. “Now, I’ve been home for a really long time, and I’ve sort of gotten acclimated back to being in L.A. and being around my family,” Nick said at the time.
Despite those comments, Nick’s troubled past is now back under scrutiny in light of the brutal murders of his parents.
The LAPD has yet to confirm his role but has said the investigation is ongoing and that no one has been detained.

The exact cause of death, he said, would be determined by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
