President Biden has already made a number of changes since taking office on Wednesday (January 20), and now it appears that he has already removed Donald Trump's "Diet Coke button" from the office.
The button allegedly provided the former president with Diet Coke whenever it was pressed.
However, in photographs of the Oval Office, it appears to be no more, as per The Hill.
Sharing photographs from inside the Oval Office, journalist Tom Dunn wrote: "President Biden has removed the Diet Coke button. When @ShippersUnbound and I interviewed Donald Trump in 2019, we became fascinated by what the little red button did. Eventually, Trump pressed it, and a butler swiftly brought in a Diet Coke on a silver platter. It's gone now."
The button was previously situated on the Resolute Desk and allowed Trump a constant supply of soda as he went about his work, with The Hill noting that he reportedly consumed as many as 12 cans of Diet Soda a day.
Ex-White House aide Chris Sims revealed in his 2019 book, Team of Vipers, that the president frequently trolled his guests by pressing the button and implying that it had nuclear-triggering capabilities.
"Out of nowhere, he’d suddenly press the button," Sims wrote of the former president. "Not sure what to do, guests would look at one another with raised eyebrows. Moments later, a steward would enter the room carrying a glass filled with Diet Coke on a silver platter, and Trump would burst out laughing."
However, while Biden may have removed the button, it turns out that he too has a penchant for soda, and a caterer who had previously worked for the former vice president told The Washington Post in 2020 that he enjoys Coke Zero, which he keeps a steady supply of in the pantry.

Biden's other changes have been more political, and hours after being sworn in as president, he moved to reinstate the US to the Paris climate agreement, per the Guardian.
This was not the only action of the Trump administration to be immediately reversed by Biden, and he also signed an executive order to end the "Muslim ban", USA Today reports.
