The rapper Pop Smoke has reportedly been found dead in his own home in the Hollywood Hills area, allegedly after an attempted home invasion robbery.

According to a report by celebrity gossip site TMZ, the musician (real name: Bashar Barakah Jackson) was at home at approximately 4:30 am when two men broke in and fired multiple shots. They shot the 20-year-old and fatally injured him, before fleeing the crime scene on foot.

TMZ reports that he was rushed by ambulance to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, but sadly pronounced dead on arrival. He was just 20-years-old. The suspects responsible have not yet been apprehended, and police are still investigating the murder.

Pop Smoke garnered significant attention for his 2019 single "Welcome to the Party" - which was later remixed by Skepta and Nicki Minaj. Earlier this month, he released the deluxe edition of his Meet the Woo Vol. 2 projects and appeared on Travis Scott's 2019 JackBoys comp cut.

In a recent interview with XXL, the young artist stated: "This rapping is just another step in my life... There's no telling what I might do after this. I'll probably open up a store or some sh*t."
