Russian state TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov has weighed in on the growing speculation surrounding U.S. President Donald Trump’s health, sharing an ominous message.

His comments came on the Russia-1 channel on Sunday, August 31, after days of online rumors claiming Trump was ill or even dead following an unusual absence from the public eye.

Trump has pushed back strongly against the chatter. Posting on Truth Social, he assured supporters that he has “never felt better,” dismissing the claims as baseless.

Vladimir Solovyov on Trump’s health and mortality

In his on-air remarks, Solovyov referenced viral images that appeared to show a bruise on Trump’s hand. He compared it to the late Queen Elizabeth II, who also had a visible bruise before her passing in 2022.

“The whole world is saying that Trump has a bruise on his hand. The British queen also had a bruise and then she died,” Solovyov said. “Everybody dies. Whether they have a bruise or not, people are mortal.”

He went further, casting doubt on a recent clip showing Trump on a golf course, claiming (without evidence) that the video was two months old. “That’s it, Trump is gone,” he declared.

Geopolitics and the SCO summit

The TV presenter also linked the health rumors to broader shifts in global politics. He pointed to the recent Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese Premier Xi Jinping, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as proof of a changing world order.

According to Solovyov, the meeting illustrated a pivot away from U.S. and European dominance toward closer ties among Russia, China, and India. He mocked Trump’s past failed attempts to expand U.S. influence through proposals to acquire Greenland, Canada, or the Panama Canal, saying they underscored Washington’s diminishing global sway.

Trump Succession Speculation and JD Vance

Solovyov also highlighted comments from Vice President JD Vance, who has said he is ready to step in should anything happen to Trump. “He [Vance] must know something,” Solovyov remarked, suggesting (without evidence) that there may be more to the story.

For now, the White House has not indicated that the president is suffering from health issues. Still, the speculation shows no sign of fading, amplified not only in U.S. political circles but now also on Russian state media.
