Seattle artist, 80, and sons among 4 people found dead in horrifying 'triple murder-suicide'
Four people have been found dead in Seattle in a suspected triple murder-suicide at a pair of homes in the suburbs early on Tuesday morning.
Among the dead were 80-year-old artist Danielle Cuvillier, as well as her son, Mackenzie P. Williams, 45, who were found at a home in Mercer Island, just seven miles outside of Seattle, according to a post on Facebook by local police.
Just hours later, a woman in her 40s and a man in his mid-30s were found dead in a house in Issaquah, 17 miles outside of Seattle, while police were doing a welfare check.
The Issaquah Police Department confirmed: "At this point in the investigation details lead us to believe there are no outstanding suspects and no ongoing threat to the community. These are the only details able to be released at this time."
Mercer Island Police Department Commander Jeff Magnan later confirmed that Danielle and her son's deaths were flagged to the Issaquah police by his office, which asked them to do a welfare check on Danielle’s 34-year-old son, Dominick Cuvillier, and Williams’ wife, per the Seattle Times and KIRO 7.
Danielle's attorney told KIRO 7 that Dominick was reportedly one of the victims found at the home, while neighbors told the outlet that Williams' wife was the second unnamed decedent.
According to reports, the deaths are being investigated as homicides and a suicide, though police have not identified who is suspected to be the attacker.
Authorities also confirmed that they'd recovered four firearms inside the Mercer Island home, as well as a fifth firearm in a car which has been impounded as part of the investigation.
The deaths come after Danielle Cuvillier and Williams were allegedly involved in intense conflict about the care of the artist's younger son, according to court documents obtained by the outlets, per the New York Post.
The 34-year-old was diagnosed with Angelman syndrome, a rare genetic disorder which reult in severe developmental delays and which requires round-the-clock care.
Dominick had lived with his parents until his father's death in 2018, after which Williams stepped in to share caregiving responsibilities with their mother.
In a King County court declaration, Williams had reportedly accused their mother of physically and emotionally abusing his brother, which she had denied, the outlets reported.
In January 2025, Williams had begun working together with a lawyer to assume power of attorney with his brother's consent, which would have given him sole responsibility over his brother's care.
Danielle then alleged that her younger son had been "unduly influenced" to agree to the arrangement, according to the Seattle Times.
She was later charged with fourth-degree assault following a disagreement with Williams at the Mercer Island home after she allegedly refused to let him enter the property.
Danielle later filed a petition for a protection order against Williams on behalf of her younger son, in which she alleged that Williams' "behavior has been unpredictable and aggressive lately", highlighting the number of firearms at his home, the outlet reported.
Williams had acknowledged he had 53 firearm in his home, which he then surrendered, according to another document. The protection order was approved and reissued three further times, but was terminated in early December.
In August, the pair reached an agreement to let Dominick live with his mother, with permission for visitations on Sundays and Mondays, as well as one weekend a month. Danielle and Williams had agreed to communicate with each other only over text messages and email so that Dominick would not be caught in any disagreements between them, and Danielle was named as his sole guardian and conservator.
The investigation into their deaths is ongoing.
