A Texas man charged with participating in the Capitol riots has been accused of threatening to "assassinate" politician Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
On Wednesday, January 6, a mob of pro-Trump protestors interrupted the ceremonial counting of the Electoral College votes affirming Joe Biden's victory in the 2020 US Presidential Election.
The violent riots ultimately left a total of five people dead and forced politicians and journalists to flee Congress after the mob clashed with riot police.

The New York Post reports that 34-year-old Garret Miller, who hails from the town of Richardson in Texas, was arrested on Wednesday, January 20.
Per The Post, court documents show that Miller bragged about his part in the civil disorder online, and also made statements threatening the Capitol Police officer who shot one of the rioters, according to court documents.
In addition to this, in a now-deleted tweet, Miller also threatened New York Representative Ocasio-Cortez on Twitter after the 31-year-old called for Trump's impeachment and stated that all rioters should be arrested. Miller reportedly wrote:
"We acted with honor and we where [sic] not armed. We where [sic] gentle with the police. They murdered a child."
"Assassinate AOC." He added in a follow up tweet.
In an official statement, Miller's attorney Clint Broden told the Dallas Morning News that: "Mr. Miller takes responsibility for his actions taken on January 6 on behalf of his support for former President Trump and wants to move forward and put this behind him.
"He has the support of his family and his comments reflect misguided political hyperbole that will not be repeated."

Miller is far from the only rioter to have been charged over his involvement in the incident.
For example, per The New York Times, the man seen in numerous pictures stealing a flag from the Capitol has been identified as Kevin Seefried. Seefriend was arrested by the FBI along with his son Hunter on Thursday, January 15.
The Bureau, which had circulated images of Kevin in a bid to catch him, was able to positively ID both Seefrieds after Hunter apparently bragged to others about his part in the civil disturbance.
Seefried told Federal agents that he'd brought the flag with him to Washington from his home in Delaware.
He and Hunter have now been charged with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, and violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.
Meanwhile, 36-year-old Adam Johnson, who was seen in pictures picking up and carrying House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s lectern, was also arrested and released on a $25,000 bond.
Johnson, who hails from Parrish, Florida, was charged with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority and with the theft of government property. He was released from jail on Monday and is due back in court on January 19.
Jacob Chansley, the horned Capitol protestor "QAnon Shaman" who was also featured in a number of pictures taken at the scene, has also been arrested and charged after turning himself into the FBI.
According to a statement from the federal attorney for Washington, D.C.:
"Jacob Anthony Chansley, a.k.a. Jake Angeli, of Arizona, was charged with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, and with violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.
"Chansley was taken into custody today. It is alleged that Chansley was identified as the man seen in media coverage who entered the Capitol building dressed in horns, a bearskin headdress, red, white and blue face paint, shirtless, and tan pants.
"This individual carried a spear, approximately 6 feet in length, with an American flag tied just below the blade."
