A student at a private Baptist university in Texas announced on Friday that one of their students is "no longer enrolled" after she reportedly posted a racist TikTok video.

Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene did not identify the student, who is a woman, but he confirmed that she was a student there after she wore an HSU T-shirt in the video.

Hardin-Simmons President Eric Bruntmyer said in a video statement that it was a "deeply disappointing and an unacceptable social media post," adding that it does "does not reflect the Christian values of HSU."

The TikTok implies that people overreact to the deaths of African-Americas killed by white people, but don't act with the same horror when a white person is killed by a black person.

The young woman captioned the now-deleted original video: "People when a BLACK person kills a BLACK person."

She then captions another section of the video: "People when a BLACK person kills a WHITE person."

The video caption then transitions to "People when a WHITE person kills a BLACK person" and the woman can be seen engulfed in flames and mouthing angrily.

The university said in a statement cited by Yahoo News: "Upon learning about a TikTok post made this week by an HSU student, we immediately took action to address the situation and began the required disciplinary process."

"We can confirm that the student associated with this incident is no longer enrolled at Hardin-Simmons University."

This comes as unrest continues to unfold across the US, as protests - some peaceful, some violent - are calling out the systemic injustices carried out against black people, not least seen by the recent deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor.

As well as a call for justice, these ongoing protests are also demanding an end to police brutality and the racism that is so deeply entrenched in America and the western world.

The message is simple: Black lives matter.
