Nicki Minaj has revealed that she received the so-called Trump "Gold Card", a special visa offering a direct path to U.S. residency and citizenship, an exclusive privilege typically reserved for those who can afford to pay $1 million.
The card is emblazoned with President Donald Trump's face and provides wealthy individuals with expedited US citizenship if they can demonstrate they will substantially benefit the country.
The 43-year-old rapper took to X to share a picture of the Trump Gold Card, writing: "Welp" in the caption.
She then shared a follow-up post, which read: "Residency? Residency? The cope is coping. Finalizing that citizenship paperwork as we speak as per MY wonderful, gracious, charming President. Thanks to the petition.
"I wouldn’t have done it without you. Oh CitizenNIKA you are thee moment," she penned, adding: "Gold Trump card free of charge."
A VIP Pathway to US Citizenship
The Trump Gold Card is part of a visa program launched by the president that offers an expedited path to U.S. citizenship for wealthy foreigners.
To qualify for the card, applicants must pay a $1 million "gift" to the U.S. government, in addition to a $150,000 processing fee.
Those who receive the Gold Card are said to provide "substantial benefits" to the US through their financial contributions or business ventures, BBC News reported.
According to the scheme’s official website, the card promises residency in "record time" and is designed to attract high-level professionals.
Businesses that sponsor employees for the card are required to pay $2 million, with additional fees that may be applied depending on the applicant's situation.
A “platinum” version of the card, which includes special tax breaks, will soon be available for a whopping $5 million.
Many people have criticized Trump, saying the card favors the wealthy, but he has defended the program, calling it a "bargain" for those able to create jobs and contribute to the economy.
"The people that can pay $5 million, they're going to create jobs," the 79-year-old said, adding: "It’s going to sell like crazy."
Minaj’s Support for Trump Grows as She Aligns with MAGA
The 'Super Bass' rapper was born in Trinidad and came to the US as an immigrant at the age of five.
Back in 2018, she admitted that she “came to this country as an illegal immigrant at five years old,” and slammed the government’s family-separation policies.
“This is so scary to me,” she said, cited by The Independent. “Please stop this. Can you try to imagine the terror and panic these kids feel right now? Not knowing if their parents are dead or alive, if they'll ever see them again.”
Now she has become a vocal supporter of a man who has vowed to remove every illegal immigrant from the country.
The mom-of-one's backing for Trump was cemented when she spoke with Charlie Kirk's widow, Erika Kirk, at Turning Point USA's America Fest in December.
The rapper also praised Trump’s foreign policy, particularly his response to violence against Christians, publicly supporting his stance in November.
Her support for the current administration’s agenda has raised eyebrows among her fans, some of whom have been outraged by her political shift.
"We no longer care about you or your music. As for me, I'm done with you and your music," one ex-fan wrote, while another chimed in: "Never in life thought that I wouldn’t be a Nicki Minaj fan so disappointed."
Trump expressed admiration for Minaj at his Treasury Department's Trump Accounts Summit on January 28, even joking about her Pink Friday Nails brand.
"And I said, I'm going to let my nails grow because I love those nails," Trump remarked, per USA Today. "I’m going to let those nails grow!"
He also took to TikTok to share a video of him calling the 'Starships' musician "the queen of rap".
